A total of 65 players are still in contention for a place in the €600 Event #13, which will be contested over two players and 30-minute levels...

17:37

Kick-off at 6 p.m.

The Summer Festival €600 High-Roller Event #13 features a two-day structure with 30-minute levels throughout. Friday will be played over 11 levels, with late registration open until Saturday.

Participants receive 50,000 chips with the option of registering or re-entering during the entire first level of Day 2 on Saturday, June 29. Late entrants will enter on 1000 - 2500 (2500) with 20 blinds.

The late reg' ends on Saturday at 2.30pm, at the start of the 13th level of the tournament, which guarantees €50,000. This prizepool is set to be blown away, as there were 28 tickets on Friday afternoon's satellite and already 35 registered half an hour before the shuffle up & deal!

Sacré Départ... guaranteed success

There are 11 levels on the schedule for Day 1 of the €600 Summer High-Roller, with 12 levels of late entries and a Saturday 2:30 p.m. closing time... but that hasn't stopped the €60,000 guarantee from already being exceeded.

It's level 3 with blinds 100 - 300 (300) and the table already shows 114 players at the tables for 117 entrants, exactly the number of players needed to reach the guarantee.

The one-hour dinner break will take place between 8 and 9 pm...

20:30

Dinner Break

Play resumes at 9pm on blinds 200 - 500 (500) with 115 players for 133 entries in Event #13 High-Roller Summer at €600 per entry. The prizepool has climbed to €68,000, with seven levels and three and a half hours of poker remaining after dinner. Registration is open for the entire first level of Day 2, scheduled to start at 2pm on Saturday.

The high-roller features Main Event exiters, in-the-money players such as Gilles Huet, Noah Alem, Walter van Camberg, Louis Lourthie and Mathias Moutaoukil, and regulars such as Rens Buijs and Jensen Bernard. Djamal Boutaleb also made the transition between the two tournaments...

23:24

Almost a 6-figure prize pool

Day 1 of the High-Roller is almost over for the opening day of this €600 tournament. Play is now underway at blinds 500 - 1500 (1500), with 121 players in contention and 184 entrants.

This is the 9th of 11 30-minute levels on Day 1... and registration is still open until the end of the first level on Day 2, at 2.30pm.

Latecomers will be able to enter the festival's Event #13 High-Roller when Day 2 kicks off on Saturday at 2 p.m. in blinds 1000 - 2500 (2500), i.e. 20 blinds.

For the moment, the €60,000 guarantee has been exceeded, and there is now almost €95,000 in the prize pool... See you at the end of the day to find out who's found a bag!

01:06

79 players on Day 2, registration still open

Day 1 of the €600 Event #13 High-Roller drew a provisional 193 entries on Friday at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur, providing a provisional prizepool of almost €100,000. After 11 half-hour levels, it was Harrie Snijders who packed in the biggest stack to go for the jackpot.

With 386,000 chips when the tournament resumes on Saturday at 2pm in blinds 1000 - 2500, the Dutchman is well ahead of the game. Registration will be open until the end of the resumption level, at 2.30 p.m., as the entire tournament is played over 30-minute levels. Stephane Croes, Shana Oyen, Rens Buijs, Mathias Moutaoukil, Patrick Prijot, Claudio Guadagnino also made good use of the starting stack of 50,000 chips.

In addition to the Top 20 below, Day 2 will feature Djamal Boutaleb, Gilles Huet, Sabri Philipps, Mehdi Rebai, Kader Slila, Dang Nguyen, Mengshi Tian, Isaac Borghouts, Jay Hoebe, Elie Hallouss, Redouane Abed and Virginie Toury...

Join us on Saturday for the conclusion of the most expensive tournament of the Summer Festival 2024.

14:12

Late Reg' until 2:30 p.m.

Play resumed on 1000 - 2500 (2500) at 2pm at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur in High-Roller Event #13 Summer Festival. This €600 tournament allows late reg' or re-entry until the end of the first level of Day 2, until 2.30pm this Saturday, June 29.

Whereas 79 players had bagged chips by the end of Day 1, there are now 88 players provisionally on track for 205 entries. The organization has received 12 additional entries so far, and this figure is set to rise further, boosting the prizepool to just over €105,000.

With 9 blinds in the pot, WInter Festival champion Pel Nieuwenhuis went all-in straight away... heading for the rail. The Dutchman hasn't yet returned to the field, but he shouldn't be long...

15:16

218 entries, €21,000 winnings and 31 paid places

Level 14 began a few minutes ago, and registration is now closed for this €600 per entry Event #13 High-Roller Summer. The Circus Casino Resort in Namur recorded 25 additional entries during the first level of Day 2, boosting attendance to 218 entries and the prizepool to just over €111,000.

The final 31 players will share the prize pool, with the lion's share of €21,000 going to the champion. The min-cash is €960, and many of the players present this Saturday have already given up, as the game is now played over 2000 - 4000 (4000).

Levels are 30 minutes until the last survivor is crowned... and it won't be Morgan Poisson, Kader Slila, Jay Hoebe, Gilles Magny or Pierre Tilmant.

Robin Engelmann, Nicolas Destercq, Prash Somash, Moncef Karoui or Wim Verhaegen have also given up their hopes of winning this tournament... so it's time for the €350 Mystery Bounty, which started at 3 p.m. with over 80 players seated...

Break

Break on the High-Roller with 47 players still in the running for the 31 paid places and the €21,000 first prize...

Resumption at 4.20pm with an average of 232,000 chips in blinds 3000 - 6000 (6000). Mathias Moutaoukil, Harrie Snijders, Djamal Boutaleb Alexandra Quach, Noah Alem, Maxime Servais and others are still in the game...

For Virginie Toury, Sutharsan Ariyanagam, Walter van Camberg and Simon Bouaska, on the other hand, it's finito... head for the Mystery Bounty at 3 p.m. or the Freezout at 4 p.m. to digest and get back in the saddle?

17:57

The smell of money

34 players remain for 31 paid seats in the €600 Summer Festival High-Roller. Event #13 is currently being played on blinds 6000 - 12,000 (12,000) with an average of 320,000 chips.

Alexandra Quach, who suffered a badbeat, was unable to continue after the Midnight Express. No money also for Jensen Bernard, Rens Buijs, Arno Thuy, Patrick Hutsch, Sabri Philipps, Franck René, Dang Nguyen or Jawad Bengourane, all eliminated in the last hour of play...

George Inan and an anonymous player are the most at risk with 80,000 chips, while Mehdi Sahli, Wang Nengming and Jan George have three more blinds to fold (or not). Najam Ghulam will be all-in in four hands automatically!

18:26

Bubble Time

The Summer High Roller is now down to 32 players for 31 paid positions and a €960 min-cash.

Melvin Maas, George Inan (34th) and Mohamed Razab Sekh (33rd) have jumped since the last point. Mohamed got his hopes up for a short while by doubling up Lady 7 against Jack 8, but ended up 3-bet shove Ace Lady from the big blind for 88,000 chips on a Harrie Snijders open.

The chipleader paid with 8s to climb to 1.1 million chips and reduce the field, with the next eliminated being the last to leave empty-handed. In apnea since Day 1, Najam Ghulam (above) survived in accrobatic fashion when he was all-in automatically.

Najam discovered the big blind Jacks in a duel against Patrick Prijot who had opened the button with the Queens... he made three of a kind on the flop and four of a kind on the river to survive.

The bubble may not be for him as he'll have 4 deals in hand per hand before he's back in the big blind. Najam returns at 18:43 with 35,000 chips in blinds 10,000 - 15,000 (15,000)... more in danger than Zak Belhidaoui (below) who is at the same table but will be back under the gun.

With 55,000 chips, Zak can fold his blinds to make another orbit and hope for a bust before he does... verdict in a few minutes!

19:12

Mathias Moutaoukil bubble-boy

After a hand-for-hand deal before the break, it took just one deal after the break to hold the bubble-boy.

After a hijack from Mengshin Tian, Mathias Moutaoukil called at the cutoff for a duel which continued on an Ace-King 6 all diamonds flop. The Chinese player bet 35,000 chips and the Moroccan stayed in contact to discover a black baby turn.

The Asian player sent a second pot to 85,000 chips and Mathias went into thinking mode. A minute later he pushed his stack up to around 250,000 chips to snap! Tian revealed 9 and 5 of diamonds for flush... Mathias returned ace-queen with the queen of diamonds.

The river didn't help the man who had just won two finals in Namur and one a week ago in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. Moutaoukil left the €600 High-Roller empty-handed.

Next up, JS Denissa begins to skim the field, taking out Najam Ghulam and Zak Belhidaoui in the same move...

With 5 minutes left to play on blinds 10,000 - 15,000 (15,000), there will then be two levels and then it's time for the dinner break.

The dinner break will run from 8.15pm to 9.30pm...

All in the Final

With 13 minutes left to play on the 40,000 - 80,000 (80,000) level, the 9 finalists of the High-Roller are preparing for the final table.

The game is being played with an average of 1.2 million, and the contenders for the €21,000 check have secured €2,826 for their deep-run on this Event #13 which brought together 218 entrants....

In the end, it was a Swedish player (on the left below) who made the bubble after reshoving a mismatched King 9 from the big blind on an open under the gun of Stéphane Croes. The Belgian was a bit light so he tanked to call with his Ace 2 but an Ace on the flop freed everyone up... the final looks intense given the depth...

The Final (in order of seats)

Deal

Pierre Scourneau (below) was down to 3.5 blinds at the bubble of the final when he moved all-in from queen 8 in the small blind. He doubled up on Karlsson's 4 5, who bubbled a few minutes later!

With a big rush early in the final, Pierre quickly pulled away and was well ahead at 6 left... by which time a deal had been offered. The other 5 players took €10,000, he pocketed €14,600... the survivors are now playing for the 2 €2,200 CPS Main Event tickets...

The final four face off over 125,000 - 250,000 (250,000) with an average of 2.7 million...

Gilles Huet King of the High-Roller (€10,000 + CPS Main Event ticket €2,200)

With a low average and a long 6-way tie, the final players in the 218-entrant High-Roller decided to settle. In the lead at the time of the deal, Pierre Scourneau took the lion's share of the €111,610 prizepool.

The final 6 players in contention turned their by-in into a 5-figure payout... among them PLO5 KO winner JS Denissa and Namur regulars Claudio Guadagnino, Xavier Servais and Isaac Borghouts. Finally runner-up, Pierre Scourneau took the consolation of €14,600 and will be back at the end of the year for the CPS Main Event, since like the winner he went for the €2,200 ticket to the most expensive Main Event of the year at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.

Gilles Huet was coming off two finals at a festival in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux... this was only his second live success, as his previous victory came in 2015, at a €300 Pasino Deepstack in Saint-Amand! The Frenchman passes the $400,000 mark in live earnings, the win for Team Gentil this Saturday evening in Namur...
