14:09

Big Rhythm at the start

350 players at the start of Day 2 of the Circus Namur French Open... and already 5 out in the first 7 minutes of play.

Head for the 167 paid seats before trying to get to 4 or 5 tables for Sunday's Final Day!

Barely time for the Shuffle up and deal and it's finito for Daniel Veloson, who had bagged a micro stack on the last-chance Turbo. It was also the end of the road for Ralf Becker and Fabien Nguyen...

14:24

Washing machine

Half a level over 2000 - 4000 (4000) and the field is down to 328 players, there's an outgoing per minute in Namur on this Day 2!

It's all over for Rami Awad, David Kahan, Shana Oyen, Jérôme Balthazar, Simon Bouaska, Nasser ABdouni, Marcel Diel, Frederik Simon and Ahmed Jirjees...

14:38

30 minutes, 35 outgoing

There are 315 players left in the tournament after half an hour of play on Day 2. Many players had tightened their belts to make it to the weekend, and the floodgates have opened.

Johann Compagnon had 10 blinds at the start, he's on the rail, heading for the €100 Extra satellite for the High Roller (15,000 chips - 10 minutes)...

It's all over for former Namur Main Event winner Farukh Tach. Tach had 50 blinds at the start, and his chips were gone.

Finito also for Yucheng Li, Daniel Domb, Nicolas Bouteiller or the Mystery Bounty runner-up, Robertus de Wildt

14:51

The 300 mark

There were 1,139 on the starting line, and still 350 at the start of Day 2... 47 minutes later, only 297 were left.

The blinds rose to 2500 - 5000 (5000) with an average of 38 blinds, but some just didn't have the time. Samir Akhoullou was short-stacked at the start with 10 blinds, but fell, as did Sama Ziarati, who was also short-stacked at the start.

Finish also for Morten Faas, Salvatore Sablone, Jorden Verbraeken, Bayram Guezeli, Cerdic Dorveaux, Simon Cuachy and Jan Keunen...

15:11

60 minutes of play, 70 outgoing players

One elimination follows another. With 20 minutes left to play on 2500 - 5000 (5000), there are now just 278 in the running - quite a pace from the start.

Lukas Oster, Ismael Joly, Alena Weiss, Robin Cornet and Fouad El Mouhmouh gave up the ghost, as did Mateusz Kubik, who had put on a ton at the start of Day 1G before starting Day 2 with 25 blinds.

As for the big stacks, the chipleader at the start of the day lost some more. Bilal Atila had just over 600,000 in chips, with just under 300 to go to the 167 paid places... Tino de Zutter also dropped back with 350,000 to go.

Yves Seghers (400,000) added to his stack, as did the new boss. Yuksel Tok already had a Top 20 stack at the start, and is now comfortably ahead with 680,000 chips.

Joost Kuijpers is still on a roll with 560,000, as is Antonino Mangano with 540,000 chips, over 100 blinds...

15:29

New Level

The blinds climb to 3000 - 6000 (6000), 80 minutes of play and the field has fallen to 261 survivors for an average of 218,000 chips...

Daniel Pirlot continues his ascent, topping the 600,000 chip mark... just the opposite of Nicolas Bardoux or Last Chance Turbo chipleader Steve Berdoyes.

Romain Becker, on the wrong side of the coin on a flip, and Fabio Percio were also out. Octavian Ripan, Laurent van den Eyde and Jeremy Baldisseri are also out of the picture...

15:44

Pause en Approche

Another 20 minutes to go before the end of the level and a first break. The field was down to 242 players, with Djamal Boutaleb having to surrender his queens. He came up against his opponent's kings in a pot of 60 blinds...

It's all over for Jonathan Jolimont, Tommazo Loperfidio and Raphael Muller... Ali Bilgin, Glen Laureys, Prash Knight, Jensen Bernard, Fouad Serrar, Florent Wanlin, Celine Diot and Abdel Slila are also off the track.

16:12

Break

120 minutes of play and 218 players on break, there were 132 exits in two hours of poker.

Just before the break, Kader Slila went all-in on a 5 7 4 flop with three of a kind to climb to 770,000 chips. He accepted Dominik Sluthe's invitation for 241,000, who didn't back down with the queens... and the dealer turned over a queen river to allow Dominik to climb to 700,000!

Kader Slila reached 70,000 at the break, while the game resumed on 4000 - 8000 (8000) with an average of 263,000.

Heidi Croon is right in this zone, betting everything for 121,000 chips with Ace Queen just before the break... paid by Ace King she also hit a Queen River!

In the minutes before the break, Armel Dai, Arnaud Debaille, Fabrice Bensaid, Ralph Pijls and Martin Schneiders didn't have the same success, and so got on the busto wagon.

16:54

Top 200

The field is down to 200 survivors with 17 minutes left to play on 4000 - 8000 (8000) with an average of 281,000 chips or 35 blinds.

With 167 places paid and a €450 min-cash, there's less room for error... for Alexandre Murgia, Fabien Perrot, Antoine Vincendez, Amir Khaled, Dirk Langen, Christophe Joncquel, Aymeric Dolignon, Kader Slila and Wim Verhaegen won't make the money...

17:15

Bulle en Approche

There are now just 183 players (for 167 paid seats), while the blinds have risen to 5,000 - 10,000 (10,000). The average is 31 blinds, and Morgan Poisson is in a bit of a funk.

After picking up the €2200 ticket to the CPS Main Event, Morgan 3-bet then called the opposing shove with Ace King to create a 50-blind pot... There was Ace-King in front and his opponent had to flush!

Firat Baltaci, Ludovic Ruperto, Julien Gillain, Mario Adel, Pierre Pezzuto, Raphael Canta, Agim Gizmo, Melvin Maas, Isa Yuksel and Patrick Prijot were also unhappy...

17:33

173 Left

With 167 places paid, the bubble is just around the corner... The average is 32 blinds, with 20 minutes left to play on 5,000 - 10,000 (10,000).

Yves Senterre, Alban Grainville, Calin-Nelu Pop, Mohamed Sahli, Vincent de Neve and Theo Plagneux won't be making the €450 min-cash...

17:53

Say 168

1 minute left on 5,000 - 10,000 (10,000) with an average of 33 blinds and 168 players on the rail for 167 paid seats.

Bona Chap jumped in with the Aces, all went in the middle on a 9-high flop and Kevin Brichet had hit max flush to climb to 240,000 pawns two bricks later. Bona Chap is on the rail in 172nd place, having been eliminated at a table where Noah Allem is up to 1.1 million.

Behind him, Gregory Dewinne was eliminated from the big blind after an open from Thomas de Kerchove. "You're winning every hand," says Arne Coulier (300,000) to Dewinne after he's claimed one more victim to climb to 1.3 million chips, probably leading the tournament.

Meanwhile, Lucas Ligny doubled up with the Aces to climb to 300,000. Open late at 21,000, Noah Allem put the pressure on in the small blind with a stack of 500,000 to put the opener all-in... and Lucas woke up with the Arrows in the big blind to play out his tournament with 130,000. Noah's mismatched A6 won't even let him get a buzz going, back to 950,000 chips for Allem, who has plenty to enjoy on the bubble...

In the meantime, Andrei Cosma (170th) and Rene Middelberg (169th) give up and the floor announces the stopwatch. Main par Main will start on the next deal, and there are still a few hands left in the room...

18:14

Wilhelmus Crolla The Empty Hands

The hand-for-hand play lasted for just one deal... After an overlimp by Robin Fournez (950,000) paid by his neighbor on the left, Guy Goosens, Wilhelmus Crolla (in seat 1 in the photo) went all-in for 6,000 more chips in the big blind.

Sandro Gangi (320,000), who had limped under the gun, completes and the trio with chips checke all the way on a King Ten 3 4 3 board. Sandro reveals Jack 5 for high Jack, Robin Ace 7 for high as well, imitated by Guy who reveals Ace 5 for high... but Wilhelmus' Jack 9 didn't connect and so he bowed out in 169th place.

The 167 survivors are guaranteed a €450 payout, including Arne Coulier who doubled up on the deal before the hand-by-hand. Arne paid an open with ace-queen, trained the button which then 3-bet to queen-ten 3 5 9 to push the two-time BPC winner all-in. No fear for Arne, who called to get up to 600,000 chips. "No Fear? We'll see, maybe tomorrow," laughs the Belgian.

Vincent Verdickt also made the money with 480,000 after starting with ten times fewer chips... Bryan de Riddere (550,000), Rudolf Wigchert (760,000), Davy Maes (940,000) and Rachid Oufaska (920,000) also made the money...

18:35

Approach Dinner Break

In a few minutes the survivors will go on break, jumping around after entering the money.

Dalil Masaud, for example, gave up the fight when he sent in 10 blinds from the cutoff with King 9 of clubs... unluckily, his neighbor on the left found Ace Queen of clubs and flopped him too! "I console myself with the 600,000 brother (Gilles, editor's note)", Dalil concludes...

Yves Seghers is off again... Yves sends 121,000 chips directly to MP and the Cutoff announces 'raise' without having seen the shove... in short, he has to put in 231,000 chips, a bet that scares everyone away. Yves returns Ace King of Diamonds and discovers 7 and 3 mismatched at villain. The Ace 3 5 flop keeps the suspense alive, but the turn and river are safe for Yves, who returns to 25 blinds...

Pascal Honai, Remco Koops, Mihaita Georgita, Damien Hupe have secured the €450 min-cash, so they're off to the High Roller...

18:55

Dinner break

Resumption at 8 p.m. with 138 survivors in this €330 Circus Namur French Open. The average will be 412,000 chips in blinds 10,000 - 15,000 (15,000)...

Yvan Marsus is disgusted: not only did he miss out on the extra small ticket, but he was well ahead when he went all in with Ace 5 on Ace 5 3... His opponent paid with Ace King to hit a runner-runner Valet!

It's all over for Sammy Barka and Gunther Rettel... this duo fell to 110th and 109th place respectively within a few minutes of each other, each time against Gabriel-Mihail Radu.

Meanwhile, Bryan de Riddere, Abdel Lamrani and Eric Goffin have given up the ghost. Radu, for his part, is in ascendancy mode, with 1,450,000 chips now in front of him.

Gabriel-Mihail first sucked in 400,000 from Barka. A UTG limp, a 40,000-chip isolation attempt paid off once, Sammy Barka completes on the button with Queen 9 of spades and they're 4 to discover a 4 Ten Ten flop with two spades.

Radu bets 100,000, Sammy goes all-in for 340,000 chips, it's paid and Sammy discovers Ace 2 of spades in front. A spade turn puts an end to the BPC champion's hopes of winning.

A few minutes later, Gabriel-Mihail Radu opened to 40,000 chips early in the hand. It's paid in the small blind but Gunther Rettel goes all-in for 120,000 in the big blind. Radu all-in to go heads-up and the sb quickly gives up his cards.

Gabriel-Mihail (photo) eliminated his opponent, who only had a poor ace-queen, with a king-valet. The board 2 2 Roi 9 7 was fatal for the German player...

Top 100

Get out of here. It's all over for Day 1G's chipleader, the biggest of the tournament, Joost Kuijpers, who 3-bet shove King Jack into the Aces to join the rail in 103rd place. Walter Buss also left us recently, also for a €600 ticket.

The blinds are now 10,000 - 20,000 (20,000) with an average of 590,000 chips...

Arne Coulé

"Just enough to play the High-Roller... It'll pay off the first time," laughs Arne Coulier after jumping into 94th place in the Circus Namur French Open Main Event.

The two-time BPC winner went from 1 million to the rail in three straight losing moves. First, he lost 15 blinds with ace-queen versus ace-king to a preflop all-in short stack.

In the process, he opened Ace Valet and saw the big blind defend with 15 blinds behind. Arne got check-call on a Valet 9 4 flop and then check-raised all-in on his second barrel on a double-up of 4.

Coulier paid to discover 4 and 2 mismatched at his opponent's... and drop to 15 blinds. A few minutes later, he defended Ace 4 of spades in the big blind after an open under the gun paid once... then he led all-in on a King 3 2 flop with two spades.

The player under the gun had opened with 3s and paid, but no spades came to Arne's aid, so he'll be joining the High-Roller...

21:20

Not This Time

At the very end of level 10,000 - 20,000 (20,000°), Daniel Pirlot joined the rail. "That's not normal," laughs Daniel, a regular deep-runner in Namur...

Down to 10 blinds, Daniel went all in with 6 and 7 of spades and was paid by Ace-Queen for his survival. The draws appeared but didn't go in... Next!

21:31

Arriverderci les 7Bello

They were two, they jumped in two minutes. With 36 minutes left to play in the 10,000 - 25,000 blinds (25,000), the last two representatives of Team 7Bello have joined the rail.

Luigi Pacilli bowed out in 88th position after opening-shove 12 blinds and losing the flip with Ace Ten suiter against the 9s in the small blind...

In the process, Robin Fournez jumped into 86th position. Robin opened the 6s on the button and placed a 3-bet on an opening from Mohamed Boudazdit. The latter simply paid before leading 200,000 on Ten 6 4.

Robin decided to go all-in for 640,000... Mohamed paid with the queens to take his opponent out two bricks further and climb to 1.5 million chips.

A fortune when the average is 720,000...

21:48

Piano

The payout clerk is bored, it's been a quarter of an hour without an exit... There are 79 players still in the running on this Main Event, with ten minutes left on 10,000 - 25,000 (25,000) before a break.

The break will last 20 minutes, with the survivors playing at least 3 levels of 40 minutes each...

22:20

Break

Thomas de Kerchove seems to be the only player in the field with more than 2 million chips, and he'll be in the lead on the restart for 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000)...

78 players will return in a few minutes, and the average is 730,000 chips or 25 blinds...

Linda Hamdi jumped into 79th place just before the break...

Ouch

10 players jumped in 15 minutes, Nicolas Steils disappeared as did Salvatore Alessi and Antonino Mangano. Mangano bet his last 7 blinds with King Jack and found no help against his opponent's Ace King to finish 64th...

For his part, Amanullah Khall jumped in 61st position. Amanullah min-raised with Arrows at the end of the hand and nearly 700,000 behind. Kristof Verhoeven defended in the small blind before donk 100,000 on Jack 4 3.

Amanullah went all in and Kristof paid with Jack 9 to hit a Jack river... heading for a stack of 1.5 million chips.

Three minutes later, Alessio Curia sends 3.5 blinds under the gun and Kristof pays with King 8 of hearts... in front of Curia's mismatched Queen 7. A King 9 Jack Ten Ace board gives Curia the straight, and he doubles up before moving into the big blind.

They are still 61 in the running for an average of 933,000 chips...

Here We Go Guy

It's all over for Guy Goossens, who opens shove 350,000 on 20,000 - 40,000 (40,000) and runs into the Dames at Dejan Bralo. Guy found no help with the 6s and rejoined the rail in 56th place.

Things were much better for Yves Seghers, who was on the ropes at the previous break. Patience has paid off, as Yves has climbed to 2 million and is now at 1.8 million in chips.

At his table are Mihai Stinca (750,000), Bart van Heugten (800,000) and Vincent Verdickt (700,000)...

23:42

Flip Out

The blinds are down to 25,000 - 50,000 (50,000) with an average of 1.1 million chips. Bart van Heugten just left the game... the Dutchman called from the big blind with ace-valet suit following an open shove from Mihai Stinca for an equivalent stack.

The Romanian flipped the 3s for a flip and nothing happened to upset the hand order... van Heugten finished 54th, Stinca at 1.6 million chips.

At another table, David Ramillon gave up the ghost. After an open from Anne Trebitsch, David committed his entire stack of 3 blinds with 5 and 3 of hearts. He faced the queens and, despite a flush draw on the flop, eventually lost out in 53rd place...

30 minutes remain on 25,000 - 50,000 (50,000) with an average of 1.1 million and 51 players. A break will take place at the end of this level, and play could even be stopped...

La Faille

It's all over for Andrea Caizzi, a little chaffed to jump with ten minutes to go. As he sends in 500,000 and 10 blinds in the small blind, he's snapped by Kristof Verhoeven who turns over the Jacks.

At the same time, the organizers announce that when the timer stops, the last three hands of the day will be played. Andrea is behind and will remain so to jump into 43rd place... Kristof enters the final minutes of Day 2 with 2.4 million.

He's not even chipleader of his table, since Fabrice Somers is at 3.1 million chips with just a few seconds to go!

Gabi Radu leads on Final Day, Somers on provisional podium

The field shrank from 350 to 37 players over 12 40-minute levels on Saturday at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur for Day 2 of the €330 Circus Namur French Open Main Event.

It took three hours to get to the money, with the bubble lasting only a hand-to-hand deal after Wilhelmus Crolla's exit. Gregory Dewinne, Manu Poznanski, David Yardin, Robin Onati, Morgan Poisson, Yves Senterre, Firat Baltaci and Ludovic Ruperto also just missed the min-cash...

After the last 167 players had entered the money for a prize of €450, the action was fast & furious. Gone were Bryan de Riddere, Damien Hupe, Jean Yip, Pascal Honai, Dario Sorrenti and co...

BPC winner Samy Barka just missed out on the Top 100, falling short of two-time BPC champion Arne Coulier, who finished 94th. Dang Nguyen, Yves Sergeant, 7Bello Robin Fournez and Luigi Pacilli also added an ITM to their collection.

Andrei Turcanu, Nikolas Wicquart, Linda Hamdi, Nicolas Steils or Salvatore Alessi and Antonino Mangano also made up the Top 100 of this tournament with 1,139 entries.

Guy Goosens (56th) and Bart van Heugten (54th) came within a whisker of the Top 50, losing out in the final hour of play. They were joined on the rail by Rachid Oufaska, Sandro Gangi, Arne Noel and Mohamed Razab Sekh (38th), the final eliminated player of the evening.

                                                                 -------------------
