#WaSOP XIV - Super Side Final
Said Abdel Attey chipleader, 3 Belgians at 17 left
There were 219 players in the running at the start of Day 2 of the €330 Super Side, and only 17 in the running for €1,900 after 9 hours and 10 minutes of poker at the Circus Casino Resort on Monday.
The last 143 players in the running have begun to share €266,075, with €164,000 still in the prize pool ahead of Day 3, which will take place over 60-minute levels from 1pm on Tuesday. Mathias Moutaoukil came close to a correction, cracking the Kings with Ace Ten at the very end of the day to stay in contention for the top prize of €41,100.
The last three players in the running will pocket a €2,200 CPS Main Event ticket in addition to their winnings, so you need to be in the Top 5 to win a 5-figure prize! Jean-Michel Texier, Bob Seelen, Zhong Chen, Lionel de Hondt, Claudio Merolillo, Nagib Raji, Fabrice Somers or Mosjin El Yak are still in the game too... in pursuit of Said Abdel Attey which will resume with 4.1 million out of 20,000 - 50,000 (50,000)...
Full table-by-table chipcount to come as players resume in their current positions on three tables. At the next exit, a redraw on 2 tables of 8 will take place... Still in the hunt for the jackpot, Sait Akman had started" Day 2 with less than the starting mat!

3 for 3
It's Day 3, and the Super Side levels are on at one o'clock... 3 players have jumped on the first level and the blinds 25,000 - 50,000 (50,000)!
Mohammed Fekir (17th - €1,900) will not be the best Frenchman in this tournament, which attracted 984 entries, Claudio Merolillo (photo) put in the best Italian performance of the field, reaching Day 3 and taking home €1,900...
15th in the GRND On Tour Main Event three weeks ago, Mathias Moutaoukil follows this up at home. The Moroccan falls to the same place. The same way! On the previous festival, Mathias had held out at the end before sending in a suit King with very few blinds, but this time he lost with 13 blinds and a suit King Ten to two 9s for 15th place and €2,280.
It's the second double in Namur for Moutaoukil (in the background, laughing), who has twice finished 7th in fine tournaments in the Belgian poker stronghold (the Carnival and the CPS Cup, editor's note), so it'll be a double 15 this time!
The 14 survivors are guaranteed a €2,280 payout as the blinds increase to 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000), there are 35 average blinds and €158,000 still in the prizepool!

Fabrice Somers cracked the Aces with 9 and 7 to raise himself, while Zhong Chen held with two 8s against Ace 3s to win a huge pot, the Dutchman now has just over 4 million...
Keeping pace
Two hours of play and 6 runners-up, and three more runners-up in the second hour of this Super Side Final Day, played out over 50-minute levels...
End of the road for Rob Seelen who loses a big Ace-King flip to the Ten to finally cash in for €2,280. Then it's the turn of the two Belgians who come out behind.
That's €2,730 for Spider and Lionel de Hondt. Fabrice Somers signs the best performance of the tournament for local players!
Four Frenchmen and four Dutchmen remain in the game, two places from the final...

Just before the break, the action overflowed by 5 minutes on the break, Jean-Michel Texier sent a big praline to 1 million river which was eventually paid by Said Abdel Attey with Top Pair Top kicker and Ace King. Texier returned Ace 4 for trips 4 on the turn on a board with a 4 and a King on the flop!
Things should get moving again!

Dessert without Attey
Missing out on the final. The Frenchman Said Abdel Attey bowed out in tenth place after starting Day 3 with the chiplead at 17 left... Hailing from Paris, the man who finished 4th in the last Sismix tumbled before the break in a setup against Jean-Michel Texierbehind he lost a flip and King Queen against King 3 preflop at Pape Moritz !
Down to 10 blinds, the Frenchman held on and finally lost 80 minutes after the restart, in the blinds 60,000 - 120,000 (120,000). He pushed almost all of his 700,000 chips with Jack 9 of spades and Mosjin El Yak goes all-in in the big blind. The Frenchman adds and quickly understands when he discovers Ace Valet in front. The dealer unloads an As Valet brick flop that leaves Said with a runner-runner 9 and drawing dead on the turn!
Meanwhile, at the other table, Anthony Havret who played 1 million double against Fabrice Somers before finding Kings in the small blind. He opens and Zhong Chen pays with the 4s... it's fair to say there was a bit of a ruckus as both men went three of a kind on the flop. This was enough to reposition the Frenchman, who had feared the TF bubble 5 minutes earlier!

Pope elected on a Straight Flush (€37,890)
After working out a financial head's up, Moritz Pape and Ferry Sparla played for the trophy... the Dutchman was varnished all day, finishing the job with a straight flush!
Ferry Sparla opens on the button with Ace-Queen and it's defended by the German with Jack-9 of diamonds... The dealer unravels a King Ten Queen flop with two diamonds being the straight and a straight flush redraw for the chipleader who check-raises to 2 million on the continuation bet. The turn 5 of diamonds gives Moritz flush and opens up outs to Sparla who holds the Ace of Diamonds. Sparla hits the Ten of Diamonds river for max flush, this card gives a straight flush to Pape who goes all-in and is paid instantly.
The duo laugh at the showdwon, everyone having fun and turning €330 into a mountain. The final 5 players in the field of 984 entrants took a 5-figure, final podium finish at the end of the year on the CPS Main Event thanks to a €2,200 ticket! Third for 20 bars, Jean-Michel 'Doyoubelieve' Texier will be there.
The game had started at 1pm with 17 players, and it took almost 11 hours of poker to hold a champion. In the end, Germany won...
