Day 2 SuperSide WaSOP at €330 kicks off at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 31

297 players bagged up chips for Day 2 of the €330 WaSOP XII SuperSide. With a total of 1,318 entrants, the last 191 players in the field won't be going home empty-handed.

Min-cash at €505, and a €60,000 first prize accompanied by a €2,200 CPS ticket... there's more than €360,000 up for grabs in the prize pool on Monday July 31 from 2pm.

The last 6 players in the running will take a 5-figure payout, and Aurélie Dassi is still in the running. Runner-up in the previous edition after a 3-way deal for €96,000, the player bagged 120,000 chips on the Turbo 1F that closed the opening days.

Levels lasting 50 minutes and averaging 40 blinds... there were still 8 runners-up in the first 10 minutes of play on Day 2 of the WaSOP XII SuperSide.

Out went Johnny Nedved, Salvatore Alessi, Andrei Turcanu, Tim Verheyen and Valentin Delannoy... These players are leaving empty-handed, long before the €505 min-cash and the big bucks.

The Circus Casino Resort in Namur is offering three Circus Poker Series tickets at €2,200; to the last three survivors of this SuperSide WaSOP XII event, which attracted 1,318 entrants.

The champion will pocket €60,000 in cash, while the last 191 players in the running will take a share of the €366,000 prize pool. The min-cash is €505 on this €330 buy-in event.

Bulle en Approche

The 220 SuperSide survivors are 10 minutes away from a first break.... the skimming was intense on this Day 2 opener with 76 exits in 90 minutes of poker.

Maradona Abaz, Ludovic Ruperto, Yves Senterre, Alexandre Faburel, Noah Alem, Eric Goffin and Yvans Marsus joined the busto cart in the final minutes, but didn't make it into the 191 paid places...

The verdict was the same for Robin Cornet, who got off to a poor start with a costly pair of kings at the beginning of the day. Down to 20 blinds, Robin 3-bet shove 20 blinds from the Hijack after an open from a big stack paid once by a stack at 30 blinds.

The payer had ambushed with Ace King and Robin didn't hit to get out of it... heading for the rail just before the break.

9 players jumped in 17 minutes on the 2,000 - 5,000 blinds (5,000), leaving just 209 in the running after the exit of Namur cash-game regular Luca Mowgli, who lost with queens against ace-king at the worst possible moment. Billy Tuiava, Gaetano Moreci, Kjelle Baillieu, Fabio Percio and Cyril Jacquin also gave up hope...

Nikolas Wicquart found a double-up against Cédric Schumacher. The latter had just doubled with Aces against Dame 3 and an open from the button...

The button made Dame trips but a fourth heart came to save Cédric... who then paid from the button the shove from Nikolas' cutoff with Ace 6 of hearts. Nikolas returns Ace Ten and stays in front after a table of Ladies 9 5 4 8.

Wivquart stands at 58,000 after this move, while Cédric has 110,000 chips...

Several players are running out of room, including Tetiana Kovalchuk (82,000), Fabien Perrot (62,000) and Said Saddalah (58,000)... Luca Faggioli (104,000), Sébastien Hetzel (120,000) and Laurent van Severen (120,000) should all be in with a chance. Bart van Heugten (220,000) can have a little fun...

Money Time

There are 203 players left for 191 paid seats on this €330 SuperSide. After 33 minutes of play on 2000 - 5000 (5000), the average has fallen to 39 blinds...

Kevin Lourenco, Dennis van der Meulen, Jacques Picard, Jesus Castro, Vincent Gaboriau and Luca Faggioli have given up the ghost. Ugo Faggioli is still in with just under 20 blinds to save his honor... 

Ouch

The Main par Main is imminent as there are only 196 players left with 2 minutes to go before the blinds 3000 - 6000 (6000).

Serge Lenaerts has just jumped on a bad-beat, from the button he 3-bets 60,000 chips after a twice-paid open. To his left, Renaud Hennes shoves 310,000 chips in the small blind and everyone goes nuts. Serge pays for 180,000 chips with Kings and loses to Renaud's Queens after a Queen 8 7 6 Ace board...

Hand 4 Hand

Hand by Hand begins with the exit of Pierre Schryemackers, followed by Sabrina Senden, Ahmed Jirgees and Gianni Ferrone. There are 193 players in the running for 191 paid seats, and the current hand must finish at each table before the next hand can be played... 

The bubble for Baruk

Céline Diot bowed out in 193rd position after opening-shove 8 blinds in the small blind with Ace 6. Unlucky for the player, Belgian Leempoels woke up in the big blind with Ace Dame to eliminate her and climb to 450,000 one board later. 



On the first deal of the hand by hand, Ivan the Russian sends in 73,000 chips (15 blinds) with Kings. He is paid by Julien Lecamus with Jacks in the big blind, and doubles up after a 5 3 King Queen 6 board. 



On the second deal, it's Samuel Baruk who's asked for a big chunk of his 47,000 stack. There's 50,000 in the middle and Samuel has opened under the gun, checking on a 6 7 7 9 4 board.

Mohamed Razkou Allah bets 40,000 chips as the crowd arrives. Baruk takes his phone, is called back to order by the floors. "I'm going to jump, I wanted to film," he lets out before advancing his entire stack, which will save him from playing one more hand while being automatically all-in from the big blind on the next hand...

Samuel then returns two Aces, with the certainty of being out. Unsurprisingly, Mohamed returns the winning hand, a mismatched 7 and 3 that frees everyone, and the 191 players still in the running are guaranteed a €505 min-cash.

Lybaert takes the lead

Bart Lybaert is likely to lead the tournament with 1.7 million at a table featuring Manu Poznanski (450,000). 

Sandro Gangi found three of a kind at the turn of a King 2 5 Ten board to take out Kevin aka MadMax and his flopped set of 5s! Gangi climbs to 970,000 after this encounter, almost joining the winner of the 250 Freezout, Stefaan Skippers. The Dutchman now has 1.3 million chips. 

Olivier Baeten enjoyed a nice rush in the last hour to reach 750,000 chips, just behind the 800,000 chips of Paul van Oort, who had started the day with 32,000 chips and 10 blinds! 

There's 20 minutes left to play on 6,000 - 12,000 (12,000) with 85 players in the hunt for a €800 prize... Moundir Z. jumps in with Ace-King against 8 and 9 all-in preflop, one more line for WiP!

It was the end of the road for regulars Dave Kroon (73rd) and Manu Poznanski (77th). Renaud Hennes (78th) and Moise Alloun (76th) were no longer walking on water either...

Tal David Ohana, on fire at the BPC, was also finished with the SuperSide, as were Moundir (89th) and Raphael Canta (94th - pictured).

4 Figures

The blinds have just been raised to 10,000 - 25,000 (25,000) and there are only 49 players left, all guaranteed a 4-figure payout of €1,045.

The average is 32 blinds and it's all over for Xavier Servais in 57th place. Xavier missed the cutoff! Xavier lost an Ace-King flip against the Jacks to drop to 1 blind...

A few miracles later he shoved Ace-King under the gun to move up to 7 blinds, and on the next hand he found the Kings in the big blind after an open from the player who had crippled him with the Jacks. The latter paid with King-Queens to find two Queens and eliminate him for good. When the going gets tough, the tough get going!

It's over for Pierre Neuville too, another deep-run for the Belgian poker legend! 

Stop or Encore?

There are 12 minutes left to play on blinds 10,000 - 25,000, and then it's on to the final blind increase for Day 2.

There are still 43 players in the running after Fouad Elmouhmouh's exit (eliminated with Ace 9 by Sébastien Matrige's Aces Aces, who climb to 1.3 million), and the floor has announced that the 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000) level will be played before the chips are stacked, unless the field drops to 32 players before then.

There are therefore probably 62 minutes left of poker for the survivors of this Day 2, which began with 296 entrants.

Yannick Ansenne is still there, having just raised to 500,000 chips (for an average of 915,000 chips, i.e. 37 blinds) after 3-bet shove from the button following a Hijack open which quickly folded...

Ricardo Gabel doubled up against Paul van Oort. Van Oort opened shove in the small blind and Ricardo called with his micro-stack and Ace 5. He held against van Oort's suit Ten 4 to raise to 400,000. Another unpaid shove and he's up to half a million chips!

There are 45 minutes left to play in blinds 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000) with 31 blinds, and then it's off to bed for the survivors, who will be back for Final Day on Tuesday from 2pm.

Bart Lybaert and Quentin Crutel are in the driver's seat at the moment, with a stack of around 2 million chips.

In the end, 39 players packed in chips and will be reindexing on Tuesday from 2pm onwards on blinds 20,000 - 40,000(40,000) for the conclusion of the tournament. Day 3 participants secured €1,210, leaving most of a €366,000 prizepool up for grabs on Final Day... the champion will pocket €60,000 and a €2,200 ticket to the CPS, a big jackpot for a €330 buy-in!

The best-placed player is GGPoker Romania Team member Andrei Turcanu. Andrei started the day with €130,000 and finished at €2.5 million, having closed the gap on his runner-up, Belgium's Koen Lauwereys.

16 Belgians are still in the running, and while Yannick Ansenne is last in class, Bart Lybaert is in the chasing pack. Olivier Baeten is still there, as are Kristof Thijs and Sébastien Matrige.

Frenchman Quentin Crutel and Dutchman Paul van Oort still have some chips to play with. Unless Djamal Boutaleb comes back from behind to put everyone on the same page!
