The 100 Bar

20 minutes of play and the board now shows 100 entrants in this third starting session of the WaSOP 2023 €330 SuperSide.

99 players are in the running as Salvatore Allatta jumped in a matter of minutes before returning to his seat for the first re-entry of the day...

Among those present were Samuel Bovy, just back from Las Vegas, and the return of François Louis Vlassis, who tried his luck unsuccessfully on Friday. Leonardo Armino will also try his luck from the start, as will Anthony Bui Ngoc, Marc Hannesse and Robin Cornet.

Maxime Servais will try to emulate his brother Xavier, who qualified in the first session with a big stack... Fred Blehaut and Xavier Brioit are also in the running, as are Olivier Baeten, Julien Lecamus, André Otten, Manu Poznanski and Francesco Pillitteri...

Having just been eliminated on the PLO, Olivier Dinand also took his place. Having exited in 17th position, he let his opponents explain themselves to enter the 13 paid places of the Omaha tournament...

Regulars

JS Denissa, Jean-Michel Texier, Pascal Masset, Gaetano Moreci, Rico Roumen, Steven Rothheut, Paul van Oort, Farukh Tach, Martin Schneiders... a host of regulars from the Circus Casino Resort de Namur are present on Day 1C of the €330 SuperSide.

160 players have entered the tournament, with 40 minutes left to play in blinds 200 - 400 (400). Level 3 of the third of six opening sessions will be followed by a half-hour break, giving us a chance to look for the big stacks...

142 players are currently in the running, averaging 34,000 chips...

17:14

Up

Steven Rothheut has had a good start to the day and is up to 75,000 after another winning hand. He opens in early position and Giuseppe Genco defends in the big blind before paying a bet on the flop and calling-muck river on a 3 8 2 As As board... Genco slips to 58,000, another good start.

For Robin Cornet, it's an opening under the gun and a check-call against his neighbor on the left on Queen Ten 6 rainbow. There are 7,500 chips in the middle, the pot has been 3-bet and Robin check-calls 3,000 before betting 4,500 on turn 7. His opponent pays before folding following a 5,000 bet from Robin on a 5 river. Cornet climbs to 100,000 chips with 10 minutes to go before the break.

Leonardo Armino rises to 42,000 chips by going all-in for 20,000 in a 3-bet on a 6 7 5 3 board with two flush draws. There are 22,000 in the middle and Samuel Bovy hesitates in MP but folds, saving himself 31,000 chips. The button also takes its time...

The 700-player mark is approaching as Day 1C now brings together 200 entrants.

The table shows 140 players on track with 43 minutes left to play in blinds 400 - 800 (800), so no huge upsets yet on this third of six opening days.

"I do nothing, they give everything

"I do nothing, they give everything," joked Talip Sule as he cashed in David Ohana's chips at the end of a button versus big blind confrontation.

David put in 20 blinds on the turn of a Queen 9 4 3 board with Ace 8 in his hands... In position, Talip was able to pay serenely with a trio of 9s to climb well over 115,000 chips.

Dalil Masaud opened and 4-bet all-in when Talip sent a raise to the cutoff. Sule snap with the Jacks for a flip...

Dalil's Ace-King hits on the flop, but the river of an Ace-5-Queen-7-Jack board executes him! Direction 170,000 chips for Talip who makes two outs in two hands.

On the third hand played consecutively, Talip Sule opens and is 3-bet. He checks-calls a King-Queen-Ten flop with two spades and then there's no action on a 5 that opens diamonds on the turn. River, on a Ten of diamonds, Talip bets 4,000 chips but quickly gives his cards back after a 10,000 raise from his opponent. poker is easier when there's nothing to do!

20:11

SAMU

25 minutes before the dinner break and it will be without Samuel Bovy who will be back to try his luck on Sunday on Day 1E which starts at 3pm.

"Talip Sule limps (to the hijack), his neighbor on the left isolates as always for 3.5 blinds, I send my 15 blinds with Ace Valet on the button," says the man who has just returned from Las Vegas. "He pays 6 and 7 hearts, and makes runner-runner flush after a King Ten 2 flop," finishes Samuel, keeping up the morale of the players who have seen it all...

There are 127 players left for 226 entrants, and the average is 54 blinds...

20:53

Dinner break

Average at 61,000 chips for the resumption on blinds 500 - 1500 (1500) from 9:40 pm...

The table currently shows 111 players on break for 227 entrants... late registrations and re-entries will be allowed until 11:40 pm and the first hand of level 9.

"Felix" Schneiders is in the red zone with 34,000 chips, Jean-Michel Texier (110,000) and Hendrikus Soering (190,000) are doing better...

Steven Lemarcq has just defended Ace 7 against an open under the gun of Wim Buys. Steven hit Top Pair with 7 on the flop and check-call, no action on turn 7... his pot-high bet on a river Valet was fuck-call by Wim. Buys flasks Kings to fall back to the mean, Steven is also in the right tempo.
