#Spirit Festival - Main Event Day 2
188 players complete Dantean Day 1E
The Circus Casino Resort in Namur pushed back its walls on Day 1E, with over forty tables open. This resulted in 621 entries, taking the field to over 1,200. The numbers will be finalized at the end of Turbo 1F, where registrations are still possible and where there have already been more than 180 additional entries. There's almost €290,000 in the prizepool already!

At the end of 13 half-hour levels, it was an old hand who came out on top. David Olurebi put 546,000 chips and almost 11 times his starting stack in the bag for Day 2, which gets underway on Saturday at 2pm, in blinds 3000 - 6000(6000). And on 40-minute levels. So far, 353 players have returned!

77 more qualifiers on the last-chance Turbo
Day 1F, contested over 15-minute levels, attracted 208 entrants, with 70 players bagging chips at the end of the 13 levels on the program.
These players will join Day 2 at 2pm on Saturday, forming a field of 430 qualifiers. As the tournament is stack choice, there should be slightly fewer of them when the 40-minute levels resume...

Monsour Ghassemi was the most efficient player in this last session, turning 50,000 chips into 363,000, a nice nest egg on the resumption on 3000 - 6000 (6000)...
He will be joined by Gaetano Moreci, Ludovic Ruperto, Alexandra Quach, Dominique Potenza, Farukh Tach, Dang Nguyen or Taner Ayhan, all qualified on Day 1F...

Shuffle up & Deal!
428 players start Day 2 at blinds 3000 - 6000 (6000) a few minutes behind schedule. By the time everyone had settled in, the game was off to a fast start... we kept hearing "seat open"!
On to the 215 paid seats and the €350 min-cash.

Furious poker
28 minutes of play and the field is down to 380 players. 48 players already out... there's no time in Namur! The Spirit Fest Main Event won't be for Carnival 2024 winner Fabien Ayadi, or BPC podium finisher Taner Ayhan. The €600 High-Roller Event #9 (50,000 - 30 min. over 2 days) starts at 6 p.m...
20 minutes to get under 400 players and one busto per minute for Patrick Neyman, Servane Barrault, Romain Becker, Quentin Destoky, Morgan Poisson, Theo Erkamps, Samir Nasri, Tony Kiorpes or Nicolas Nicolopoulos...

Top 350
There are 30 minutes left to play on 4000 - 8000 (8000) with an average of 205,000 chips and only 350 players left. The Spirit Fest field lost 78 players in the first 50 minutes of poker on Day 2.
Denneth Rodgers, Florian Waselle, Tetiana Kovalchuk, PLO 4/5 runner-up Hervé Perrin, Albertus van Putten, Guillaume Bazoge, Fehmi Kesenci, Olivier Hegy, Yves Seghers, Sofiane Tigrine, Erwin Sprooten, Dang Nguyen, Simon Perez and Mihaita Georgita finished empty-handed...

Bustos
The dealers are doing their job with 33 minutes left on 5000 - 10 000 (10 000). 294 players remain as the first break of Day 2 will take place at the end of this level... 134 players have jumped since the start 90 minutes ago!
Pierre Constantin Fesler belched when he hit his ace with ace-valley against Romain Fliegen' s tens and Marco Barletta's kings. Strike and 700,000 chips for Fesler! Huu Nguyen found a confrontation with Aces against Kings against Ace-Kings and hit an Ace to hold and have 50 blinds as the pre-bullet approached. Things are also going well for Dominique Fassin and David Olurebi, who are at the same table with 800,000 chips and a very good block.

Among those eliminated are Yoann Argence, Abdel Chenoufi, Pascal Vos, Robert Kalka, Alexis Houspie, Eric Goffin, Andreas van Deyck, Alexandra Quach, Sofiane Yachou, Samy Salah, Olivier Carosella, Sandro Pitzanti, Fabio d'Annolfo, Ismail Demir, Nang Wengming, Walter van Camberg, Pierre Neuville, Kevin Lopes, Farukh Tach and Maradona Abaz...

Top 250
There are 6 minutes left to play before the end of the third 40-minute level of Day 2 of the €250 Spirit Fest. There were 1,444 players on the starting line, 428 at the start of Saturday, and now just 250 in the running for 215 paid seats.

Dario Mancuso, Yacine Naciri, Thomas Atkins, Dylan Dereuddre, Day 1F chipleader Monsour Ghassemi, Ruben Steenhuis, Mathias Moutaoukil, Arnaud Debrosse or Leo Toque joined the railways empty-handed...

Money Time
Day 2 of the €250 Spirit Fest Main Event resumes with 241 players and 215 paid seats. The players will soon start sharing out over €290,000...
Play resumes on 5,000 - 15,000 (15,000) with an average of 20 blinds... and probably two millionaires. In the lead on the restart with 616,000 chips, Richard van Wingerden has 1.3 million chips at the break. Patrick de Waegenaere made 238,000 to 1 million in two hours to keep up with the boss.
The final minutes before the break proved fatal for David Opdebeeck, Tony Bitto, Claudio Guadagnino, Heinz Peters, Gianni Ferrone or Sebastien Proux...

Bubble
24 minutes of play remain on blinds 5000 - 15 000 (15 000) with 21 blinds average and 221 players for 215 paid seats. We meet again after the bubble burst... without Fabien Garcia, who loses with Ace Jack against Ace Ten, his opponent making a straight from the bottom!
Fa Lecru, Lukas Trzcinski, Alexis Renard, Pim van Wierengen, Chau han Soo, Bayer Demirci, David Poncin, Mihai Stinca and Sven van Looy have also given up since the resumption...

The worst place for Jonas
A very fast-paced bubble on Day 2 of the Spirit Fest, with players and dealers in a hurry... Remco Verbakel all in with 6 and 13 blinds to fall to the Ace Valet of Wilhelmus GaleslootThe latter took advantage of the situation to soar to 800,000 chips. Verbakel finished 217th and there wasn't even time to go hand by hand, as the decision was made in the continuity of this deal.
Before Remco's disappearance, the floor had already announced that the game would be stopped at the end of the current hand... there will be no hand for hand since Ciprian Todorescu (photo) will open Dame Dix at the beginning of the floor for 30,000 chips and tank-call following the 165,000-chip reshove of Jonas De Jaeger at the end of the speech. Jonas reveals Ace Jack at the showdown and joins the rail at the end of a King Queen Jack 8 9 board... 215 players enter the money!
Meanwhile, on the next table, Mohamed Razkou Allah emerged victorious from a 3-handed plan featuring an opponent's Aces and three diamonds... with Ten and 8 mismatched for dex river pairs! MRA soars to 900,000 chips as Jonas rises and disappears at the speed of light. Joy for the €350 field... joy (or not) for Todorescu who raises to half a million.
Behind, it's an explosion: with only 6 minutes left to play on 5,000 - 15,000 (15,000), the field is already down to 197 survivors! You'll have to reach the Top 184 to win a little more... the average is back up to 24 blinds...

Min-Cash
There are 12 minutes left to play on blinds 10,000 - 15,000 (15,000) and the bubble has been bursting for a good half hour. The field is down to 162 players with a guaranteed payout of €400... they've reached the first payout level at €350.

Raphael Muller who made a royal flush before the bubble to survive, is still here. For Sabri Philips, Laurent van Den Eynde, Laurent Brach, Dimitri d'Ortona,Jan Goerge, Christiaan Willemse, Patrick Resseler, David Sabet-Nia, Christophe Lecocq or Sébastien Hebette it will be a min-cash and then it's gone...

400€ and rail
There are ten minutes left to play in the 10,000 - 20,000 blinds (20,000), with 135 players still in contention for the €44,000 first prize. The average chip size has risen to 552,000, and those still in the running are guaranteed a €450 payout...

Dominique Potenza was the last to miss this milestone. He gave up, as did Gerhard Brimmers, Anthony Llovet, Moussa Haidar, Rudi van Mol, Maxime Jouanne, Nathalie Zeep, Maxim Brandibas Tonio Ruggiu, Raphael Muller or Ivo Hermans, Basile Leleu and Kamel Boutayeb...

Razkou-Allah takes control
After a 20-minute break, play resumes with 121 players assured of a €450 payout... you'll need to make it into the Top 119 to pocket €515 and a few more coins. The average is 595,000 chips, with a resumption on blinds 10,000 - 25,000 (25,000)... there'll be a level behind and then it's the 75-minute dinner break for the survivors...

Just as everyone was taking a break, a huge move developed between Samy Barka and Mohamed Razkou-Allah. The two men sent bags to each other as there were 1.3 million chips in the middle when Mohamed sent half his remaining stack and half a million on an 8 6 8 3 6 board with two diamonds on the flop.
The BPC winner tans for a good two-three minutes before announcing that his opponent is on diamonds and then folding. Day 1D Chipleader Mohamed Razkou Allah slams Ten and 7 of diamonds for a straight flush draw that doesn't go in... enough to climb to 2.4 million, leading the tournament. Samy Barka remains well ahead with 1 million!

Dessert Deprived
There are 105 players and 23 minutes of play left in the 10,000 - 25,000 blinds (25,000), with an average of 685,000 chips. Survivors are guaranteed a €515 payout... Antonino Scalisi and Gaetano Moreci missed out on a few euros by jumping as soon as the break was over...

Loic Maddens (photo) is out of the picture too, having jumped before the break like all the other players on this list.

Not now...

The end of the road for Morten Faas, Ekin Kandemir, Justyna Lankiewicz and David Olurebi. Morten Faas, Ekin Kandemir, Justyna Lankiewicz, David Olurebi, Quentin Peeters and Samir Bou Dahdir are all out of the running... they've won €515 but missed out on the Spirit Fest Top 100!
Only 100 players remain, with 10 minutes to play on 10,000 - 25,000 (25,000)... the average has just risen to 750,000 chips or 30 blinds.

Approach dinner
With 25 minutes left to play before the dinner break, 89 players are still dreaming of a €44,000 first prize. Play is 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000) with an average of 815,000 chips and players guaranteed a €600 payout.

Here's the Hall Of Fame of players who lost out on a €515 prize. Levi Mulders, Joao Faria, Stephane Meo or Justyna Lankiewicz (pictured) won't make it to Day 3...
Level 21 is underway, the game will not be extended beyond level 26... it will be stopped if the field falls to 32 players before then.

Dinner Break
The dinner break is underway with 75 survivors after 8 levels of poker on Day 2 of the Spirit Fest. A day which started with 428 players for 215 paid seats...
Players on break are guaranteed a €600 payout, and will return to the 20,000 - 40,000 blinds (40,000) at 9:45pm with an average of 957,000 chips. After the exit of Gabrielle Weiss (photo) in 79th place, only two players remain, Belgium's Flora Ghanizadeh and France's Jessica Hervé...

Direction High-Roller

Players like Sabani Urim (above) won €600 after reaching the paid positions in the Spirit Fest Main Event... enough to move on toEvent #9 High-Roller without spending a penny more. The HR prize pool is now approaching €95,000, with registration open until 2.30pm on Sunday.
On Day 2 of the Main Event, 71 players and 25 minutes of play remain on 20,000 - 40,000 (40,000) with an average of 1 million chips... Survivors secured €680 after Fatih Yusufoglu's exit.

.jpg)
Top 60
There are 28 minutes left to play in the 25,000 - 50,000 blinds (50,000), with 60 players still in the running for the Spirit Main Event.
The average is 1.2 million chips, and we've just lost Dominique Fassin (62nd) and Samuel Bovy. The former lost to Jay Hoebe (below), who took the opportunity to take the tournament lead with 3.5 million...

Samuel Bovy (65th) fell to Tanguy Petitjean (photo), who finished 4th in the Carnival for a big ticket earlier this year. Down to 3 blinds, Samuel sent under the improved gun with 3 and 5 suite... he was paid twice and hit a flush draw on the flop, a straight draw on both ends on the turn and blanked river!
Tanguy had made Top pair on the flop and bet to discard the other rival, his Ace 9 held to allow him to climb to 2.7 million, in the very top of the leaderboard while you'll need to reach the Top 55 to win €785.

Last Woman Standing

The exit of Flora Ghanizadeh (above) in 58th place for €680 leaves Jessica Hervé (below) all alone. The Frenchwoman is the last player standing, at 500,000 chips, while the blinds have just moved to 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000)...
Flora was defeated on the previous level, her Ace 4 being no match for Romain Thomassier's pair of tens. Thomassier took advantage of the situation to swallow precious chips and climb to 2.3 million... A fortune when only 54 players are left in the running for an average of 1.3 million.

Tino Z3
Tino de Zutter hung in there when he was short on Day 1... the Belgian finished with a bang to multiply his stack by 20 in the final hour and pack in over 70 blinds for Day 2.
Things are going well for Tino, who has just hit the big time. Open from the hijack, Tino calls on the button with Queen 8 of hearts and Pierre de Keyser defends in the big blind.
On the 9 6 7 flop with two hearts, nobody bets until Tino sends in 140,000 chips. Pierre raises, the opener discards with what he'll say are two kings... and Tino goes all-in with all the draws from the floor.
De Keyser thinks before putting his million in the middle and finally calls with Jack 5 of hearts... the turn 6 of spades and river 4 of spades change nothing and Tino cashes to climb to 3,550,000 chips, almost in the lead of the tournament!
Pierre pockets €785 for his deep-run... 49 players and 26 minutes left to play on blinds 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000), with an average of 1,465,000 chips...

680€ Dans les Poches

These players won't be taking home the trophy and the €44,000 that goes with it, but they didn't go home empty-handed from their eep-run at the €250 Spirit Fest Main Event. Pascal Honai missed out by a hair's breadth...
There are 19 minutes left to play on 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000) and then it's on to the final break of Day 2. After that, there will be two maximum levels, unless the Top 32 is reached first...
The average is 1.6 million chips, with 45 players in the running.

Last Effort
The final break of Day 2 has come to an end, play resumes with 42 players and ten more to go! Play resumes on 40,000 - 80,00 (80,000) with an average of 1.7 million chips... and a Frenchman at the top. Ludovic Ruperto is ahead with over 5 million chips. The biggest stack the Nordiste swallowed was 1.2 million... he had three of a kind and his opponent had flopped a straight, a double up propelled Ruperto into the lead.

Chipcount (average 1,7 million chips)
Ludovic Ruperto 5,700,000
Jay Hoebe 4,000,000
Bogdan Petrascu 3,300,000
Pierre-Constantin Fesler 3,200,000

Mischa Up, Tanguy Down
Tanguy Petitjean ended his run in 36th place, having had two Day 3s in two Main Event appearances in Namur. 17th in the Carnival in 2023, he finished 4th in the 2024 edition before failing to finish Day 2 of this Spirit Fest.
Tanguy lost all the all-in shots during the last one. "I grinded in the meantime, but after a while it's not enough," explains the RC Lens fan. In a good momentum, Tanguy lost As Roi against As Valet at a short-stack and then a move against Samy Barka where the BPC winner had put almost his entire stack behind.
These moves would have been rather anecdotal if Tanguy hadn't lost the 9s against the 5s to climb to 5.4 million. Down to 2.1 after a 5 river, he eventually lost out to Nicolaas Baars after the latter's open paid by Tino de Zutter. With 20 blinds, Tanguyva sent in a pair of 6s only to be impaled by the opener's pair of 7s. Shoo!

At the same time, Mischa Wieten (above) went all-in. This was due to an open with 5 and 6 hearts paid by the small blind. Mischa sent out three banderillas on Ten 5 2 5 A with a flop ouleur draw that never went in. His opponent will call-muck 600,000 river to see Mischa up to 3.5 million chips.
The final level of the evening gets underway, with the move to blinds 50,000 - 100,000 (100,000) imminent... With only 36 players left, it's unlikely that this level 26 will go all the way...

No miracle for Jesus
It's all over on Day 2 of the Spirit Fest Main Event... with 31 players guaranteed a €1,040 prize. Just as the floor had announced the final hand when 33rd-placed Pierre Berniere 's short-stacked Kings were swallowed up by chipleader Pierre-Constantin Fesler's Jacks, Antoine de Jesus went all-in.
Also short-stacked, Antoine went all-in with 6s and lost a final flip to Ace-King. So it's back to 31 players and 30 minutes of action on blinds 50,000 - 100,000 (100,000).
Play resumes on Sunday at 2 p.m., and after the end of this level the levels will increase to 50 minutes...
