40 players on Final Day, Daniel Dodet chipleader

The big money is still in on the Oktoberfest at €350 per entry with the two €25,000 Max bonuses still in the safe... there's nearly €28,000 of additional bonuses left behind!

The 40 survivors in this field of 1,578 entrants are guaranteed a €685 payout, but the Top 5 will take a 5-figure payout, with a €40,000 payout for the champion... crowned live with a stream of the final cards revealed.

The game will resume with 38 minutes to play on 40,000 - 80,000 (80,000), then the levels will increase to 50 minutes until the conclusion of this event conceived by the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.

421 players were present at the start of Day 2, and it took just over 3 hours to reach the bubble. The hand-by-hand action was swift, with a German player falling to the worst place, and the last 224 survivors began to divide up the €261,000 prizepool.

After 4 hours of play, the field was down to 200 players, and two hours later it was down to 100. Day 2 was finally spread over 12 levels of 40 minutes each, and play will resume with a Belgian in the lead.

Daniel Dodet (above) went up 4.5 million to finish ahead of two Frenchmen. France's Pascal Groshens (3.9 million - below) and Sylvere Paillot (3.8 million) did the job. The top eight finishers will return with at least 40 blinds, including regulars Mischa Wieten and Viorel Merisan...

Roger Edain, Pierre Neuville, Daniel Colacurcio, Dominique Woiry, Fouad Serrar, Ken Claessens, Patrick Aerts, Natascha Siepmann, Tobias Peters and Morten Faas are still in the game and haven't said their last word.

Resume at 2 p.m. on Sunday for the final battle!

No Bonus

One hand and gone... Antonius Roberts was at the bottom of the pack, guaranteed a win of €685, and he didn't have much more to show for it as he went straight for the middle, only to be snapped up by Daniel Colacurcio, who took the opportunity to climb to €2.3 million. Daniel also gets to choose an envelope from the safe containing two €25,000 jackpots!

The survivors are then guaranteed a €785 payout, and Tobias Peters takes advantage of the opportunity to open for almost his entire stack. The Dutchman is isolated by Alexis Kaiser and adds the requested pawns with King Jack. The Frenchman flips the 8s and goes on to win the flip against the WSOP champion. Peters therefore falls to 39th place out of 1,578 entrants. Kaiser climbs to 2.3 million for an average of 2 million...

There are 31 minutes left on 40,000 - 80,000 (80,000), at the end of this level the levels will climb to 50 minutes... You need to be in the Top 31 to earn 900€.

14:36

Easy Poker

The first four victims of Day 3 were Dutch. After the exit of Henk Pol (37th), Harrie Snijders put his last 7 blinds in the middle with ace-3 suit. He's paid by 8s and finds no help to reach the rail. When an 8 appeared on the flop, Viorel Merisan exulted, indicating that he had discarded the queens after Snijders' tormentor's shove!

After Bjorn Thiryn 's (36th) exit, it's the turn of the French.

Dominique Woiry (35th) is in the rail after a match he won't soon forget. At the start of the hand Dominique finds Kings and an easy open with 20 blinds... it's all going to go in the middle against Ibrahim Aslan who is also playing 20 blinds but has Aces!

Nothing happens to change the starting order at the end of the board, and Ibrahim climbs to 3.3 million chips, while 34 players remain for an average of 2.3 million.

In 8 minutes, the blinds climb to 50,000 - 100,000 (100,000)...

14:53

Allez Sahli

Finito for Mehidi Sahli in 34th position. The Belgian let himself die without being able to do anything... he's automatically all-in and Ingo Paulus opens the hand.

Sahli reveals Queen 2 and faces Queen King from the German, who can then draw an envelope... A Queen on the flop doesn't help Sahli, who finally folds for €785 after a turn and river that don't change a thing. The blinds are then raised to 50,000 - 100,000 (100,000)...

A few minutes later, Alexis Houspie goes all-in for 1.3 million from the button with a pair of 8's. In the small blind, Sylvère Paillot sends his box with Ace Ten to isolate him. An Ace 7 7 flop ends the run of the Frenchman (33rd) who is the last to take €785, as Sylvère climbs to 5.2 million in chips.

There are 4 tables left and 31 players guaranteed a €900 payout, as Belgium's David Osumba has also retired (32nd)...

15:01

See you soon Pierre

See you on the €150 Sunday Deep at 3.30pm! As tireless as ever, Pierre Neuville had just changed tables when he finally found a hand. Heading for the exit.

In shorts, the WSOP Main Event finalist went all in with Ace Dame in MP... only to see his neighbor on the left go all in too. Guillaum Otto found Ace King to take his compatriot's scalp!

The board remained unchanged and Pierre cashed in €900 for his 31st place in this massive field of 1,578 entrants. Another deep-run for the Belgian legend, as Guillaume climbed to 4 million from an average of 2.6 million.

With blinds at 50,000 - 100,000 (100,000) for another 33 minutes, this is the Top 2% of the field still in contention at this Oktoberfest...

15:33

Quinte Papa!

After a short tour of the High-Roller, where the champion will cash €30,000, it's back to the Main Event, where only 28 players remain in the running, just a few seconds before the blinds reach 60,000 - 120,000 (120,000), the last level before the first break of this Oktoberfest Final Day. Frenchmen Thierry Brandibas and Guy Lutz took the opportunity to disappear under unknown circumstances.

The remaining 26 players are guaranteed a €900 payout... since when I return Ingo Paulus goes all-in on a flop 8 7 6 in a blind battle against Ken Claessens. Claessens has made a continuation bet with 9 and Ten and doesn't take long to pay up to 4.5 million two cards later. The German heads for the rail, where he's joined by Maxi Muss... another Belgian down.

There are still 25 players in the running, and the last three tables are about to redraw... there are 45 minutes left to play on level 28, with an average of 3.1 million chips.

15:55

Redraw

42 minutes left to play on 60,000 - 120,000 (120,000) and Patrick Aerts (25th for €1,050) has just dropped his last 7 blinds to Badre aka Luca Toni. Just before that, the chipleader at the start of the day gave up the ghost. WSOPC winner Daniel Dodet (26th) had 55 blinds when he resumed at 2pm...

The game is paused while the 24 survivors are set up on the last three tables...

Break in sight

The first break is just five minutes away on this Final Day of the €350 Oktoberfest Main Event... Only 18 players remain in the running after a few crazy minutes.

One of them was Danny de Vos ' exit with preflop Aces (22nd)! Just before that, Roger Edain gave up in 23rd position.

The Dutchman fell with 19 blinds to Pascal Groshens' queens. The Frenchman hit a Queen in doorcard to climb to 5.8 million, at the top of the pack where we find Billel Mansouri with 8.8 million for an average of 3.9 million.

Mansouri eliminated Gaetano Morecci (19th) with a pair of 7s that held up against the Belgian regular's ace 9...

No final for the last player in the competition either. Natascha Spiermann saw her run come to an end in 21st position, her Ace 5 crashing against Nicolas Iacobucci's pair of 8s in the small blind. One table later, it was all heads-up and Nicolas climbed to 5.6 million chips.

Finito also for the last Luxembourger in the running. Last in the class when the action resumed at 2 p.m., Stephane Blaser held on until 20th place to leave this Oktoberfest with €1,450...

17:00

11,7%

There are 17 envelopes left, including two with €25,000 inside... that's almost a 12% chance of hitting the jackpot! No big bonuses during the break, so 17 players resume play at three tables on blinds 75,000 - 150,000 (150,000), with an average of 4.6 million.

Billel Mansouri is ahead with 11 million chips...

17:12

Semi-finals

Viorel Merisan jumps into 17th place after sending in 750,000 chips (5 blinds) and going all-in under the gun with 9 and Ten of clubs. In the small blind Ken Claessens finds the Aces to raise to 4.9 million after a board where he shook a little because the doorcard will be a Ten of Hearts. Nothing could save Viorel, who pocketed €1,750 for his run...

The redraw is underway.

17:18

Sweet Sixteen

16 players and €40,000 to win, a 5-figure payout for the Top 5... and two more €25,000 envelopes in the safe with only 17 envelopes left to be drawn!

As the Oktoberfest drew to a close, the stakes rose to €350 per entry in a Mystery Bounty that attracted 1,578 entrants. There are 34 minutes left to play on 75,000 - 150,000 (150,000) with an average of 4.9 million chips and €1,750 guaranteed for each player...

Fouad squeezes right

Fouad Serrar finishes in 16th place... the 15 survivors are guaranteed a €2,125 prize on this Oktoberfest 2024.

Fouad went all-in straight from the cutoff with Ace-King and Ken Claessens reshoved in the small blind with 7s for a decisive flip. Fouad had bet 2.5 million on 75,000 - 150,000 chips, he was not going to find any help to finish in the rail. Ken takes the opportunity to draw an envelope and climbs to 6.4 million from an average of 5.2 million.

He stays 18 minutes before the switch to blinds 100,000 - 200,000 (200,000)...

18:19

Final approaching

With 22 minutes of play remaining on blinds 100,000 - 200,000 (200,000), there will be a short break at the end of this level, without Goosen Terschegget (15th) and Daniel Colacurcio (14th) or Mischa Wieten (13th) and Morten Faas. After a weak tamps following Goosen's elimination, the three other eliminations followed in quick succession.

The Belgian waited for a hand that didn't come and Colacurcio finally moved all in for 550,000 big blind chips with 8's. Ken Claessens had opened on the button with ace-valet and won the preflop confrontation to raise to 11.6 million and give himself the chance to draw one more envelope.

Claessens also found King Ten in the big blind to pay Morten Faas' 12-blind shove on the button. Faas (left on Day 2 with Guy Lutz 30th, ed.) had ace-valet, but a king appeared directly in the doorcard to eliminate him. Claessens climbed to 13.3 million for an average of 7.1 million.

There are now just 11 players for 9 places on the final table... Claessens has 3 chances with 17 envelopes and two €25,000 jackpots!

They jumped
10th - 3000€
11th - 3000€
12th - Morten Faas 2,500€
13th - Mischa Wieten 2,500€

22nd - Danny de Vos €1,200
23rd - Roger Edain €1,200
24th - Franck Landousli €1,050

18:43

Bubble Time

There were only 10 players left for 9 places in the final after Badre aka Luca Toni (on the left with Mitch V. in the photo) exited. The Dutchman finished in 11th place for €3,000, completing in the big blind after Mitch Vulperhorst 's open hijack paid for by everyone. There are 5 of them on the Queen 7 3 flop with two hearts and Mitch sends in 400,000 to continue.

It's paid by Billel Mansouri on the cutoff and the button... before Sylvère Paillot checks-raises to 1.6 million in the small blind. Badre mucks for 200,000 chips in the big blind, and Billel is the only one to pay to form a big pot.

On the turn 8 of spades, Sylvère bets 3,3 and Billel gives up by flashing a Queen. At showdown, Sylvère turns over 7s for three of a kind... Badre is not dead as he returns 8 and 3 mismatched for two pairs. No 8 to chatter river and Sylvère climbs to 14.4 million for an average of 7.8 million chips...

The break is imminent with a draw of the envelopes... there are 17 left with two jackpots at €25,000, it should fall!

19:28

Jackpout by Ken Claessens

During the break, Ken Claessens turned his 4 draws into €26,000. Ken drew €200 then €300 then €500 then €25,000!

He then made the final decision in a matter of minutes. Ibrahim Aslan was a little over-confident in 5-handed play, stopping in 10th place for €3,000... the others will return from 8.30pm for a streamed final. Ten envelopes remain in the vault, including one for €25,000!

Ibrahim Aslan made the TF Oktoberfest bubble in two stages. First he opened Jack 7 of clubs and Pascal Groshens shoved him with a 3-bet shove to 6 blinds of bb? Ibrahim paid to discover Ace-King in front and no one touched anything.

Two hands later, Ken Claessens moved all-in from the small blind and Ibrahim Aslan paid for his remaining 1,625,000 chips in the big blind. Aslan turned over Ace 3 in front of Claessens' Ten Jack, who caused the dinner break by hitting a Ten river!

We'll be back with seatdraw and chipcount for the final table as soon as possible...

ICM

Half an hour since the resumption of play and the biggest move saw Pascal Groshens back to 20 blinds. Last of the class, Pascal sent in Ace-King and was called by Billel Mansouri in the big blind, who turned over 6 and 4...

This double-up allowed the French No Limit representative to move back into 7th place on the chipcount. The tournament's Top 5 are currently between 40 and 50 blinds (for chipleader Nicky Steenland), while the player in 6th place is 35...

Last in the class, Nicolas Iacobucci is 16 blinds down, with €40,000 to win and with a €25,000 envelope still in the safe, the slightest mistake is going to be very costly!

22:16

Billel on the rail, Ken one class above

After an hour and 30 minutes of final action, Ken Claessens took the lead. The Belgian resumes his position as chipleader in the 200,000 - 400,000 blinds (400,000).

It's by opening more hands and making the most of them, especially against Billel Mansouri and Nicky SteenlandClaessens has built up its lead. Pascal Groshens managed to get back on track by cracking the Aces de Mitch Vulperhorst while the Nicolas Iacobucci held their own against the 9 and Ten suiter of the boss of this early Oktoberfest final.

No draw during the break, as Ken Claessens fired on the fly just after claiming the first victim of this final table: Billel Mansouri... With the jacks including the jack of diamonds, Ken went all-in for 17 million after a bet of 2.3 million from Billel Mansouri on 4 2 5 all diamonds. If Pascal Groshens found the fold with a pair of 8s, Billel paid to jump with Ace Ten including the ten of diamonds.

Almost chipleader at the start just under two levels ago, the Frenchman didn't respect the ICM and played too many moves, and is in the rail for €3,900. While Claessens has made times 3 since the start of the TF, only Sylvere Paillot has won chips, or close to it!

Triplette de France

There were 4 of them at the start of the final, and Sylvere Paillot was the only French survivor as the game went on to 200,000 - 400,000 (400,000).

After Billel Mansouri's exit, Antoine Delporte (below) went all in with a heart-and-ten draw and 8 suit on Ace 5 6 with two hearts... Mitch Vulperhorst paid with Ace 7 suit to push it into the rail two cards later.

A quarter of an hour later, Sylvere Paillot opened on the button and Pascal Groshens reshoved 2.5 million from the big blind with 9's. Sylvere paid with Dame 9 and hit a Dame on the turn to reduce the tournament field to 6 players.

The €25,000 envelope is still there despite these two eliminations!

With 10 minutes left on 250,000 - 500,000 (500,000), this level saw the exit of two Belgian players. Nicolas Iacobucci gave up, quickly imitated by Guillaum Ott (below) who put in his 12 blinds with Ace 2 suit. Nicky triumphs in 12 minutes

After the 4-way deal at the ICM, Nicky Steenland concluded in 12 minutes of madness. The Dutchman first took on Ken Claessens, the latter attempting an air bluff on 2 6 7 7 Dix. Nicky had trips and paid to take the chipcount lead.

On the next hand, Mitch Vulperhorst went all-in for 12 blinds and Nicky decided to play his luck to the hilt, paying with Ten and 8 of hearts. A Ten on the flop launched him to victory, the Dutchman starting with a huge head's up advantage.

The rising blinds dropped Sylvère Paillot to 22 blinds by the third hand of the duel. The Frenchman, who had already reached the Big Tuesday final earlier in the week, eventually limped-reshove As Roi.

Nicky called As 8 suit from the big blind to win the tournament on a 9 Jack 7 Ten 4 board. The rush of a lifetime for Nicky, who also won one of the two €25,000 bonuses up for grabs.

Chipleader for a long time in the final, Ken Claessens climbed into the 4-way deal and took the other €25,000 bonus, just before the final kicked off when almost 200 envelopes had already been drawn!

An online player, Sylvere signed his first result in Namur, unlike Mitch Vulperhorst who had already slipped into a final arrangement on another well-attended festival at Namur's Circus Casino Resort.

The final was spread over 4 hours of play, with a lot of ICM pressure at the start of the last table. Claessens took advantage of this to show a fine poker , but in the end it was the Dutchman who triumphed.

Pierre Neuville back again at Final Day

The game had restarted on Sunday with 39 survivors from a field of 1,578 entrants, the vast majority of a global prizepool of almost €458,000 still remaining. The final table took 5 hours to complete, with the field losing to Harrie Snijders (37th), WSOP Main Event finalist Pierre Neuville (31st), Final Day chipleader Daniel Dodet (26th), Roger Edain (23rd), Gaetano Moreci (19th), Mischa Wieten (13th) and Morten Faas (12th)...

The first elimination in the final took almost 90 minutes. Almost chipleader going into the final table, Frenchman Billel Mansouri was the first to give up. He was followed by two fellow Frenchmen.

After 3 Blue exits, two Belgians joined the rail... Guillaum Otto finished 5th for a 5-figure win... After many card tricks, the final quartet agreed at the ICM to share €97,000 and leave €10,700 for the winner. Nicky's rush continued in the minutes that followed, leaving Belgium as the winner.
