Intensity

As is often the case at the start of Day 2 in Namur, the pace was brisk. 35 players jumped on the first 30 minutes of the day. 

Qualifying with 1,000 chips following a bad-beat on the final hand of the opening day, Laurent VS disappeared in a matter of minutes. He went straight into the rail right from the start, although a dozen other players didn't last as long! 



No afternoon poker on the Main Event for Simon Bouaksa, François Louis Vlassis, Oussama Louhaida, Roberto Agus, Philippe Henry, Marc Thumelaire, Franck Cartigny, Pascal Masset, Jan Kusters. Bart van Heugten and Kjelle Baillieu also gave up...

Too Fast Too Furious

After almost an hour of play, the 350 survivors are now battling it out in the 2000 - 5000 blinds (5000), with an average of 42 blinds. 

78 exits in 58 minutes, they're putting it everywhere. The bubble burst very quickly. Igor Pliner finished 218th after losing the Ladies to Ace Roi at Julien van Mol's house. 

Just after, Pierre Tilmant took on Sofiane El Yachou, still all-in preflop. El Yachou finished 217th after his ace-king was impaled on the opponent's kings...

Oops

Remco Knoops has just found three Aces in half an hour. That's enough to take him from shorts to a stack of more than twice the average.

Five minutes before the blinds went up, he opened under the gun with Arrows and saw Santi Sungkapas send his stack to MP for 9 blinds with Queens.

This is called by Sjoerd Flokeringa at the cutoff, who then pays off the intial opener's 20-blind stack. Sjoerd turns over the kings and finds a Jack-King 4 flop that puts him ahead for a strike with a stack of 2.6 million chips.

The turn is a brick, but the Ace river allows Knoops to climb to 1.6 million. Flokeringa falls to 1 million and takes Santi's €400 bonus. 200 in the pocket!

Slowing down?

With 13 blinds at the end of the hand, Andrei Turcanu sends his stack in when he finds King-Queen in an unopened pot. Just to his left David Olurebi finds Ace Valet to send the Romanian into the rail and up to 1.7 million chips. 



End of game for Gilles Magny too, who goes all-in 4 blinds under the gun and sees Ralf Ostermaier reshove just to his left. At the cutoff Franck Konrad pushes... and Alex Kamitsios wakes up with kings on the button for a 4 all-in preflop.

Despite their appearance, David Opdebeeck and Rico Chevalot are having the time of their lives. There's a lot of laughter between the two players, and David has long been behind at chipcount.

No Bounty For The Old Men

No tournament bonus and a 55th-place exit for Bruno Englebert. Bruno sent in a small ace but Jeff Hemmer woke up with ace-king to raise to 1 million a board later. Bruno held up well but didn't eliminate anyone from the tournament, so it looks like there's not a player left in the tournament in this case...

David will not be Goliath

David Opdebeeck finished in 49th place with a big flip at 3.2 million against Daniel Pirlot. 

Open from David on the button to 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000), 3-bet in the small blind to 380,000 pawns from Daniel and shove 1.7 from David with Ace King. It's call with Jacks by Daniel who hits a Jack Queen 2 7 7 board to soar to 3.2 million. 

Down to 200,000 chips, David goes all-in from the big blind two hands later. Daniel Pirlot opens under the gun, and is called by Remco Knoops, who pays a flop bet before folding river on an 8 6 4 7 Queen board. Pirlot reveals Dame 7 to climb to 3.6 million... at the top of the leaderboard.
