Intensity
As is often the case at the start of Day 2 in Namur, the pace was brisk. 35 players jumped on the first 30 minutes of the day.
Qualifying with 1,000 chips following a bad-beat on the final hand of the opening day, Laurent VS disappeared in a matter of minutes. He went straight into the rail right from the start, although a dozen other players didn't last as long!
No afternoon poker on the Main Event for Simon Bouaksa, François Louis Vlassis, Oussama Louhaida, Roberto Agus, Philippe Henry, Marc Thumelaire, Franck Cartigny, Pascal Masset, Jan Kusters. Bart van Heugten and Kjelle Baillieu also gave up...

14:57
Too Fast Too Furious
After almost an hour of play, the 350 survivors are now battling it out in the 2000 - 5000 blinds (5000), with an average of 42 blinds.
78 exits in 58 minutes, they're putting it everywhere. For Dennie Cordromp, Nikolas Wicquart, Rico Roumen (photo), Patrick Prijot, Gaetan Cacciaguerra, Adrien Brihaye, Arnaud Danes, Abdel Chenoufi, Heidi Croone, Eliot Hirn, Dominique Potenza, Hugo Loustau and Glenn Laureys, however, another tournament will have to be found.
The titleholder is also on the rail. Winner of the 2019 edition, which attracted just over 500 participantsMohamed Touahri surrendered his weapons...

15:24
New Level
There are 4 tables left in the Salle Océan, with Abdel Lamrani and Fathi Khalfaoui, among others, achieving twice the average.
The blinds have just risen to 3,000 - 6,000 (6,000), with 320 players still in the field and an average of 37 blinds.
Finito for Morgan Poisson, Firat Baltaci, Joan Mertens, Ivar Buitter, Wesley Peinen, Maxence Melin, Farukh Tach, Tino de Zutter or Pascal Libert...

15:41
Falling backwards
The victims continue to pass us by for a Walk Of Shame ;)
Antonius Krijn didn't make it to the money, but went off to enter the High-Roller, a tournament he's head's up twice in the last 4 festivals.
Bobby P. (photo), Geoffrey Wichmann, Saman Ziarati and Franck Debusscher all head for the rail...

16:10
Break
Resumption at 4:35 pm on blinds 4000 - 8000 (8000) with 276 players.
152 players jumped in during the first 120 minutes of play, the pace is intense... the average at the end of the break will be 265,000 chips.
Aziz Kendel, Joszef Szabo, Eric Denizart, Romain le Dantec jumped in just before the break. It was Audrey Petitjean who scalped the WSOP world champion for a nice bounty!
Quentin Destoky, Magali Staal, Dang Nguyen, Johann Compagnon, Rens Buijs, Charly Calfeli, Robin Fore, Mischa Wieten, Bayer Demirci or Marc Hannesse are also entitled to an extended break...

16:38
Restart
Five minutes of play since the first break and Bart Lybaert is out of chips. The same goes for Samy Barka, Marko Markovic and Eric Borge.
There are no more tables in the Salle Océan, while 269 players remain in the running for 215 paid seats and a €310 min-cash.

16:58
Checkpoint
Half an hour of play since the first break, 240 players remain for 215 paid seats with an average of 305,000 chips on 4000 - 8000 (8000).
Dennis Lee has been eliminated by Daniel Pirlot, who takes the opportunity to climb to 360,000 chips with a huge €700 bounty on his head. Hoi Leung has "only" €500 on his head but has 980,000 chips, probably leading the tournament after eliminating Yoann Ramaekers.
Jean Yip, Ugo Faggioli, Eric Vancraywinkel, Koraly Kinect and Cédric Glineur also gave up in the final minutes. There are 3 tables left in the cash-game room (which is also running at full regime, ed. note)...

Players will be grouped together on 24 tables at 216 players left, with hand-by-hand action starting at 217 players left...

17:33

The atmosphere is calmer, and there's less chatter at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur... There are now just 219 players in the running, following the exit of Mark Coppes, Greg Biermans and Florentin Barre.
There are 18 minutes left to play on 5000 - 10 000 (10 000) with an average of 335 000 chips...

17:51
Viorel Merisan bubble-boy
The bubble burst very quickly. Igor Pliner finished 218th after losing the Ladies to Ace Roi at Julien van Mol's house.
Just after, Pierre Tilmant took on Sofiane El Yachou, still all-in preflop. El Yachou finished 217th after his ace-king was impaled on the opponent's kings...
Here, the game was paused for a short while to regroup players at 24 tables.
The bubble burst on the first hand-by-hand deal. Viorel Merisan sent 151,000 chips to the hijack with all 5s and a personal bonus of €475. Suffice to say, all the players tanked behind... and Jeff Hemmer called with a stack of 210,000 chips and no big blind bonus yet.
Jeff returned the Ten and took €250 straight into his pocket after a 2 Valet Valet 6 7... also freeing the 215 other players still in contention at this Oktoberfest.
With 6 minutes to go before a break, it's time to skim the field...

17:58
Break
The 20-minute break begins... 201 players go on break assured of a €310 min-cash.

The tournament resumes at 9:35 p.m. with all tables 8-handed until the end of the tournament.
Yves Sergeant has just made a big fold in a 3-bet preflop pot where they were still 4 on the flop. The dealer unlocks a Ten 4 2 flop with two spades and Yves bets 145,000 with 200,000 behind... Gerardus van Capelleeven goes all-in for 400,000 and the small blind goes all-in for 500,000!
Yves finds a fold with Kings and €400 in bonuses... Gerardus turns over the tens and doubles up to 1.1 million against the 5s in the small blind!

They collect 400€.

Just before the break, Axel Santoni eliminated two players in one go. He opened at the cutoff with two Aces and saw the small blind go all-in for the average... and the big blind go all-in for 50 blinds with 9s.
It's snap by Axel, who discovers As Dix in the shortest game and takes it all in a 4 7 7 7 Dix table. Heading for 2.6 million at the very top of the leaderboard, the young man is battling it out with Dovidio Monaco at the very top!

Oops
Remco Knoops has just found three Aces in half an hour. That's enough to take him from shorts to a stack of more than twice the average.
Five minutes before the blinds went up, he opened under the gun with Arrows and saw Santi Sungkapas send his stack to MP for 9 blinds with Queens.
This is called by Sjoerd Flokeringa at the cutoff, who then pays off the intial opener's 20-blind stack. Sjoerd turns over the kings and finds a Jack-King 4 flop that puts him ahead for a strike with a stack of 2.6 million chips.
The turn is a brick, but the Ace river allows Knoops to climb to 1.6 million. Flokeringa falls to 1 million and takes Santi's €400 bonus. 200 in the pocket!
By the time this confrontation is written, the blinds have risen to 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000), with 82 players remaining and an average of 894,000 chips.

22:23
Un P'ti Tour
Audrey Petitjean bet-call on an Ace 2 5 flop with two spades and doubled up Zakaria who was chasing spades with Queen 9 suit. Ambassador Nutsr still has 40 blinds...
Steven Rottheut joins the rail after the button opens shove As 7 off. Steven finds the Jacks in the big blind with 10 blinds but the board shows him out for €519.
There are 25 minutes left to play on 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000) with 74 players in the running and an average close to the million mark.
The aim is to reach at least 5 tables on Day 2 of the Oktoberfest...

With 13 blinds at the end of the hand, Andrei Turcanu sends his stack in when he finds King-Queen in an unopened pot. Just to his left David Olurebi finds Ace Valet to send the Romanian into the rail and up to 1.7 million chips.
End of game for Gilles Magny too, who goes all-in 4 blinds under the gun and sees Ralf Ostermaier reshove just to his left. At the cutoff Franck Konrad pushes... and Alex Kamitsios wakes up with kings on the button for a 4 all-in preflop.
Ace Jack for Gilles, Ace Queen for Ralf, 6's for Franck who will find a set while Ralf will find an Ace to crack Kamitsios. Gilles' bounty and 1.6 million for Franck Konrad, the rail for Gilles, Ralf falls to 250,000 and Alex to 150,000.
On the next hand Ralf tries to finish Alex off but falls to 3 blinds as Alex Kamitsios rises to what will soon be 10 blinds.
There are 2 minutes left before the switch to 20,000 - 40,000 (40,000). The average is 1 million with 69 players...

oPé vs DeteR
Despite their appearance, David Opdebeeck and Rico Chevalot are having the time of their lives. There's a lot of laughter between the two players, and David has long been behind at chipcount.
He has just won the scalp of Dieter Victor, who opened on the button with Ace 8 suiter and found a call with his big twenty blinds following an all-in 3-bet with Ace King from David. Direction a stack of 2 million for David, Rico must be running at 1.7 million.
Salvatore Alessi, on the other hand, came to an end. The regular from Namur held out for a long time before exiting in 64th position for €590...
There are 25 minutes left to play on 20,000 - 40,000 (40,000) with an average of 1.1 million chips. A break will take place at the end of this level...

23:15
Landing
in 63rd place for €590 and a few bonuses, Sammy Barka was done with the Oktoberfest Main. After doubling up two shorts, the BPC winner went all in with King Jack of Diamonds to get paid by the queens.
Despite a straight draw on both ends and a flush draw on the flop, nothing was going to come...
Fifteen minutes to go before a 15-minute break. The average is 30 blinds...

They collect €590
The 55 survivors have secured €690 in winnings with 23 minutes left in the 25,000 - 50,000 blinds (50,000). The average is 1.3 million, so it's aperitif time for these eliminated players...
Axel Santoni is at the helm of the tournament, having just settled two notches to the left of Dovidio Monaco, the only other player with more than 3 million ahead of him.
Bruno Englebert still hasn't eliminated any players - there are just a few of them - but the bonuses are increasing nicely... there were €146,700 in bonuses to play for in this Progressive KO format.

No Bounty For The Old Men
No tournament bonus and a 55th-place exit for Bruno Englebert. Bruno sent in a small ace but Jeff Hemmer woke up with ace-king to raise to 1 million a board later. Bruno held up well but didn't eliminate anyone from the tournament, so it looks like there's not a player left in the tournament in this case...

David will not be Goliath
David Opdebeeck finished in 49th place with a big flip at 3.2 million against Daniel Pirlot.
Open from David on the button to 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000), 3-bet in the small blind to 380,000 pawns from Daniel and shove 1.7 from David with Ace King. It's call with Jacks by Daniel who hits a Jack Queen 2 7 7 board to soar to 3.2 million.
Down to 200,000 chips, David goes all-in from the big blind two hands later. Daniel Pirlot opens under the gun, and is called by Remco Knoops, who pays a flop bet before folding river on an 8 6 4 7 Queen board. Pirlot reveals Dame 7 to climb to 3.6 million... at the top of the leaderboard.
46 players remain for an average of 1.6 million. There are 27 minutes left on the 30,000 - 60,000 blinds (60,000) and play could well end at 40 left...

Hadrien won't be an Emperor
Hadrien Gallez finishes in 46th place, sending 11 blinds to MP and seeing Audrey Petitjean accept the invitation at the end of the hand.
The NutsR player reveals the Aces and stays ahead of her opponent's Tens to climb to 2.2 million chips.
There are still 45 players for an average of 1.6 million, and in a quarter of an hour the blinds climb to €40,000.

Big Pot
The biggest pot of the tournament or close to it. Daniel Pirlot opens to 125,000 chips and sends in a 1.5 million jack (with 1.7 million behind) when Dovidio Monaco 3-bets to 500,000 chips from the blinds.
At this stage of the move, Dovidio will think for a long time before sending in his stack for 3.3 million in total. It's quickly paid by a not-so-happy Daniel with ace-king sweat. Dovidio reveals the Kings for this pot of 6.4 million chips!
The Ten Jack Queen flop is fantastic for Daniel, and if the turn 4 changes nothing, the ace on the river brings Dovidio a split. One ball all around... Daniel is left with 3.4 million, while Dovidio has the same or almost the same stack. 10 minutes to play on 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000)...

A La Relance
On the Road To PSPC Namur podium, Taner Ayhan loves the Circus Casino Resort, and he's back with a vengeance. He just took out Fabien Nguyen to climb to 3.2 million and take a few more euros.
There are 42 entries with 30 minutes to go before the end of level 40,000 - 80,000 (80,000)... the average is now 1.7 million.

Extra Time
They're down to 41 after the elimination of Andreas Gondrom. The German sends in 6 blinds with the 7s and is paid off by Philippe de Jaeger in the small blind, who returns Ace Jack. Philippe makes a full house on the flop, giving himself some breathing space as the next player out is the last of Day 2.
There are 18 minutes left to play on 40,000 - 80,000 (80,000)... the game will be stopped at the next elimination.

They collect €690
Qualifiers for Day 3, which starts at 2pm with 50-minute levels, are guaranteed a €800 payout.
There were 38 players on the floor as the floor announced the last 3 hands following the exit of Jeff Hemmer, who was able to raise to 12 blinds with the 7s against the 5s but lost out after a cruel 6 King 4 King 5 table.
Curel tableau also for Audrey Petitjean, who is down to 400,000 after losing Aces to Kings at Yannick Ansenne UTG. Yannick now has 2.7 million since he hit a King in this confrontation against the button...

"They paid when I had and when I had 3-barrels they threw river," finished Antonio Almeida, who will return with 50 blinds and the biggest stack of the final heads-up contenders. The participants in this final duel will be fighting for a huge prize, with a guaranteed payout of €30,030...
The end of the day was marked by the rise of an already well-placed player... and by Audrey Petitjean's loss with Aces to Yannick Ansenne's preflop all-in Kings... Audrey is on Day 3, but will only return with less than 3 blinds...
