The bubble for Kay Boeren

It took almost 10 deals hand for hand to hold the bubble-boy of this Event #8 Circus Knockout Oktoberfest, Thursday at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.

Not much to get his teeth into, and Marcel Berger took the opportunity to take a nap on the first three hands of the bubble... Short, his neighbor on the left Kay Boeren is more on the lookout, standing up to see if there's any more danger than he is...

Meanwhile, Luc Gillard goes all-in. The Belgian puts in 9 blinds in the middle of the big blind after an early open and a call on the button. The opener pays with the 3s and faces the kings in Gillard's hand, who doubles up without a moment's hesitation.

It was then the 4th deal of the hand by hand... we finally had to wait 25 minutes after Maurice Tan 's exit (25th) to witness another "all-in & call". This time, Marcel Berger came out of his torpor at the cutoff to open... Kay Boeren (right below, before showdown) moved all-in for 6 blinds from the button and snap-called after the blinds folded.

The German turned over a mismatched Queen 7 and the Dutchman, risking his neck, revealed the black kings. The dealer unwraps a 4 Queen Ten flop with two diamonds, a 2 of diamonds on the turn that opens the flush draw to Berger and a 7 of hearts river that propels the 23 survivors into the money. 205€ richer!

Play then resumes as normal, with 10 minutes to go on the blinds 2000 - 5000 (5000), with an average of 202,000 chips. Argentina's Matias de la Sala is now in the lead with half a million chips in front of him.

He is ahead of Morgan Poisson and Daniel Pirlot, both at 400,000. Pierre Neuville (210,000) and Cyril Fabre (105,000) are still there, while Luc Gillard cracked the Aces post-flop after his double-up to exit the bubble with 150,000 chips and 30 blinds...

Approach final

As the 8,000 - 16,000 (16,000) level gets underway, only 11 players remain in the running, with a guaranteed payout of €370. Despite the 30-minute levels, the game remains playable, with an average of 422,000 chips...

Cyril Fabre has jumped into the Main Event, where he is reunited with Rayane Moktavarium... less than 24 hours after having already played at his table on Day 1 of the Circus Knockout. Daniel Pirlot will also be able to try his luck again in the Oktoberfest Main Event, as he has not yet validated his ticket for the weekend.

Chipleader at the end of Day 1A, and still first in the overall rankings, Pierre Neuville will be able to follow up his performance in the Pot Limit Omaha side event which has just begun...

Knockout for Argentina

It was Dutchman Roel Kohlen who cracked first in the 4-handed draw. After an hour of non-elimination play, Leon Moris finally took his first bonus of the tournament... and precious chips to slip into heads-up play.

Down to 20 blinds, Kylian Berghman finally shoved ace-8 into the jacks of Matias de la Sala, who took the opportunity to extend his lead. The duel began with the Belgian holding 1.3 million to the Argentinian's 3.3 million... and a few minutes later, when he was down to 1.1 million, a deal was struck.

Everyone kept their €100 bonus and Matias de Sala took the trophy, leaving a few euros behind. The perfect way to return home with pride. The Argentinian took 10 bonuses during this Final Day, and was the most lethal on this Circus Knockout which gathered 158 entrants over two days... Enough to pose with his pal, who railroaded him all day long.
