Paul Schwarz triumphs after deal (€8,822)

Initially scheduled as a one-day event, the €400 No Limit 6-Max Belgian Poker Challenge was spread over two days, with the final being played on Wednesday. The tournament attracted 217 entrants for a final prizepool of €71,870... a prize pool shared by the last 35 players in the running, after Fabien Perrot exited at the bubble.

Arne Coulier, Kader Slila, Djamal Boutaleb, Noah Alem or Rami Awad and Wim Verhaegen managed to add a line to their prize lists without reaching the end of the night at Circus Casino Resort.

David Opdebeeck had put his hands on the tournament in the semi-finals, but the 20-minute levels and a succession of lost shots proved fatal. David was defeated in a battle of the blinds a few minutes before the end of play, on a resteal where he hit turn before seeing his tormentor pass river again!

Then it was JS Denissa's turn to play the chiplead pot with a straight and flush draw on the flop against two Aces... only to hit turn and river. The Belgian resumed the final table in 7th position, in order to gain a place after the exit of Mihai Stinca (6th).

After the disappearance of a player wishing to remain anonymous in 5th place, the final four agreed on an ICM deal to join the BPC 2024 Main Event and this ultra-frequented Day 1F. Austrian Paul Schwarz's first official win on the circuit!
