#Namur Classics - Mystery Bounty Day 2

14:00
15 qualifiers and Ken Claessens beats Bryan de Riddere in-extremis
Despite a shaky start, the first of three opening days of the €1,100 Mystery Bounty Event #6 eventually attracted 47 entrants. Well on schedule to smash the event's €100,000 guarantee.
Bryan de Riddere got off to a flying start and was in the lead until two hands from the end... only to be overtaken by Ken Claessens, who had floundered at the turn of an explosive 3-way at the start of the day, a move which enabled de Riddere to take the stack from Salvatore Alessi.
In the end, 15 players made it through the 7 hours 30 minutes of poker. After the final 4 hands, Arnaud Peyroles (below), David Kahan, Max Melin, Pierre Neuville and Farukh Tach all booked their tickets for Day 2...
See you on Sunday for the final two days of this tournament, played over 45-minute levels in its entirety...
Registration is open until the first hand of Day 2, Monday April 1 at 2pm. The Mystery Bounty format will be implemented at the money's entrance, approximately at 15% of the remaining field...

Movement
Quentin Destoky came out on top of the Mystery Bounty, with only 8 of them left, all guaranteed to win €1,900.
Quentin will have to draw an envelope at the next break, since he's the one in charge of Gerhard Brimmers (9th for €1,583) a few minutes ago. Quentin opened a pair of 9s and Brimmers paid the cutoff before the button put in a 3-bet that didn't scare anyone away.
Three of them discover a flop 8 5 5 and Gerhard goes all-in for 40 blinds after Quentin's check. The button goes wide, and Quentin hesitates for a long moment before paying to discover King Jack in front. No horror turn or river and Quentin is up to 3.4 million chips!
Destoky has a ton, as the game is played over 10,000 - 25,000 (25,000) with an average of 1.3 million. The one in danger now is Pierre Neuville.
The WSOP Main Event finalist went all in with the button Jacks after a raise duel with Farukh Tach who was in the small blind. Tach turned over Ace-King at showdown to hit a river heads-up and climb to 1.3 million, right in the middle of the pack. Pierre Neuville has only 550,000 chips left at the end of this encounter...

Farukh goes on the Attack
There are only 6 players left in this final round of the Mystery Bounty, with 40 minutes left to play on blinds 20,000 - 40,000 (40,000). The last three outs are Germans.
Short throughout the tournament, Farukh Tach passed second in the semi-finals and since doubling up on Pierre Neuville he's been setting the pace at the final table. Winner of the Namur Classics 2022 Main Event, Farukh Tach now has his sights set on a new trophy!
The survivors have secured a €2,950 payout, with two €10,000 envelopes left to draw from! Next draw at the break at the end of this level...

3-way deal on the Mystery, victory for Quentin Destoky
After the two €10,000 envelopes had been drawn (one by Quentin Destoky, the other by Vincent Thys, editor's note), the final trio agreed on an ICM deal and the remaining envelopes. All in all, another victory for Belgium at this Easter festival.
Lami took the remaining CPS Main Event ticket and just over €14,000 in cash at the ICM. He had captured a €1,000 bonus in the safe. Vincent Thys took €14,380 at the ICM, with €15,000 in Mystery bonuses! Tournament winner, Quentin Destoky takes home €12,000 from the ICM and €15,500 in bonuses.
Farukh Tach was in the lead for a while in the final, the winner of the Namur Classics 2022 finally missed out on the podium after a very long 4-way. The final of this €1,100 tournament was a tough one, with the finalist of the 2015 WSOP Main Event Pierre Neuville lost out in 5th place, just behind France's Cédric Weinberg. Before that, three Germans had given up the ghost at the start of the TF.
Entries were open until the start of Day 2, and 6 players joined the party to bring the tournament total to 107. 15 players shared the prize pool with the bubble going to Claudio Guadagnino.
Next, Bryan de Riddere, Walter van Camberg, Wim Verhaegen and Maxence Melin were quick to jump. David Kahan missed the final by one step...
