Main Event Final

Miro Alilovic chipleader, €656,000 to share in BPC final
After a Day 4 that saw the field drop from 40 players to 9 finalists in a 12-hour day, the survivors of this Belgian Poker Challenge 2024 are guaranteed a €19,007 ticket. Omar Lakhdari's successor will walk away with €200,000 and a €2,200 CPS Main Event ticket.
Chipleader and big-event titlist Miro Alilovic showed talent and a solid run to reach the final with 16.2 million of the tournament's 63 million outstanding. The Frenchman leads a cosmopolitan group into the final, with 4 French players still in the running, as well as 2 Belgians, 2 Dutchmen and a formidable German, Konstantin Faerber.
Winner of a Eureka High-Roller, Faerber will advance with 11 million chips and the second-largest stack among the finalists. He is just ahead of Rayane Mokhtar aka Moktavarium, a player who has already won a title in Namur, having won his one and only televised table at a SuperSide WaSOP, where he turned €330 into €50,000! Mokta is a candidate for the title, like the two players mentioned above, but there are others who can believe in it. Traffic jam in the final, where ICM and resistance to pressure will play a big role.
No one can rule out Tobias Peters from the shortlist, the two-time WSOP Circuit winner and WSOP champion has just over 20 blinds but remains a dangerous player capable of going all the way. Rob Hendrix and Mathias Henin also showed good form, as did Yoann Ramaekers and the two Samirs. Launched with a 4 all-in on the flop on Day 1, Samir Boudeliou hasn't let up in three days and is showing great solidity. The more whimsical Samir Bou Dahdir hasn't given up on blowing things up... All the ingredients for a great final. See you on Sunday!

Tobias Peters stops here (19.007€)
A good 40 minutes - that's how long the BPC final lasted for Tobias Peters. The Dutchman, with a track record as long as his arm, had 20 blinds to start the final table, and jumped in two moves against the tournament's undisputed boss...
Tobias Peters lost half his stack quickly when he flopped three of a kind on the flop. The 3 Ten Ten King Jack board allowed Miro Alilovic to find a top river full house and drop the WSOP champion to the back of the pack. The Frenchman increased his lead at the top of the tournament a few minutes later by finishing one of the scarecrows of the final.
Peters went all in for 10 blinds with Ace 5 from the button, and couldn't hold out against the tricolor's King Jack in the small blind... much to the delight of Mathias Henin, last in the class but guaranteed to win at least another €5,000.
The game is played on blinds 75,000 - 150,000 (150,000) with an average of 9 million.

15:30
Fatal double check-raise for Ramaekers (€24,300)
Rayane Mokhtar finally finds a hand and opens on the button with 8's. In the big blind, the Belgian defends with 5's and 2's of hearts to find what he believes to be a magic flop. Instead, this will be the end of his adventure in this BPC tournament with 1,259 entrants.
With 35 blinds at the start of the hand, Ramaekers check-raises his two pair to 700,000 chips and Rayane pays in position. On the Jack of Diamonds turn, Yoann draws dead but doesn't know it yet... he checks-raises all-in for 4.3 million after another Moktavarium banderilla. The Frenchman snaps to raise to 15 million and 100 blinds! Ramaekers leaves the game €24,300 richer, a hell of a one time!
There's one Belgian left and Mathias Henin is bottom of the table!

16:10
Break
The game is paused and will resume with 7 players guaranteed a €31,500 payout. Play resumes on 100,000 - 200,000 (200,000) with an average at 9 million. Miroslav Alilovic has the majority of the 63 million chips in circulation...
The Final (in seating order)
Konstantin Faerber (Germany) 10,750,000
Tobias Peters (Netherlands)Bas) 3,325,000
Miro Alilovic (France) 34,975,000
Mathias Henin (Belgium) 2,125,000
Samir Boudeliou (France) 7,250,000
Rob Hendrikx (Netherlands) 1,600,000
Rayane Mokhtar (France) 12,300,000
Samir Bou Dahdir (France) 4,125,000

17:01
Henin Roi des Belges (€31,500)
There are no more Belgians in the running at the Belgian Poker Challenge 2024. Mathias Henin gave himself the deep-run of a lifetime, but came up short in the semi-finals, where he found himself on the tournament's most complicated table. A young player in the middle of his one-time career, Mathias showed a good poker on this BPC 2024, which brought together 1,259 entrants, and he walked away with €31,500 for his 7th place.
Last in the class, Mathias went all-in with Ace Ten after an open from Samir Bou Dahdir at the cutoff. The Frenchman turned over Ace Roi to stay ahead of a suspenseful Ace Ten Jack 4 Jack board later! The Frenchman climbed back up to 5 million chips.
Levels are set to increase to 70 minutes with 10.4 million chips as the 100,000 - 200,000 (200,000) blinds approach... A foreigner will succeed Omar Lakhdari, but the French are in a strong position with a big chipleader. Miroslav Alilovic has 34 million of the 63 chips in circulation at 6 left...

19:10
Last Dance for Hendrikx (€53,500)
The last Dutchman on the Belgian Poker Challenge didn't make it to the dinner break. Last in the class, Rob Hendrikx was unable to continue his shortstacking mission begun on Day 4. He finally bowed out in 6th place for a meagre €41,100. The remaining players secured a total of €53,500.
Rob Hendrikx found queens on the button and logically opened before Rayane Mokhtar pushed him all-in from the blinds. The Dutchman paid with his premium... only to discover Kings in the Frenchman's hand. One board later, Moktavarium continued to undermine the game. 4 Frenchmen and a German remain on this BPC!

19:40
Moktavarium leads at dinner-break
On the last hand before the break, Miro Alilovic defended Dame 2 suite to find a Top pair against Rayane Mokhtar who had open with Kings. From the cutoff, Moktavarium bet in continuation on a Dame 7 5 flop and the chipleader obviously paid to discover a turn 3.
With 2.8 million in the middle, Rayane sent a second banderill to 1.9 million... and Miro check-called again. River 6 slowed the action and the duo checked, but things largely evened out just before the dinner break. Rayane is now in the lead of the French Championship in Namur!
Resuming at around 8.45pm for streaming, the game will have resumed 22 minutes earlier on blinds 150,000 - 300,000 (300,000). The average is 12.5 million with 5 players...
The Final (in order of seats)
Konstantin Faerber (Germany) 4,775,000
Miro Alilovic (France) 21,500,000
Samir Boudeliou (France) 11,800,000
Rayane Mokhtar (France) 19,100,000
Samir Bou Dahdir (France) 5,750,000

20:55
54,500€ for Samir
The flip of too many for Samir Bou Dhadir, who puts in his last 11 blinds with a pair of 9s following an open from Miroslav Alilovic. The Frenchman pays with King-Queen after opening early, and a Queen on the flop puts him back in the lead at 26 million. The last survivors of the Belgian Poker Challenge are guaranteed a €70,000 prize.

21:14
Samir denied podium (€70,000)
Samir Boudeliou is almost in shock after his exit. The Frenchman ended on an "inevitable" encounter in a blinds battle against his compatriot; Rayane Mokhtar. After an open in the small blind, Rayane defended a mismatched Dame 8 and the duo discovered a 9 Ten 4 flop on which a first salvo was exchanged. With Jack Ten sucked in hand, Samir thinks he's found a nice turn card on a Jack but Rayane has found the straight... he'll bet 3.1 million in 3.3 million after the opponent's check.
Samir Boudeliou then places a check-shove which is instantly paid. After a river 6, Moktavarium climbs to 32 million chips out of 63. Like the last 5 players in this Belgian Poker Challenge, Samir Boudeliou will be consoling himself with a big check and a €2,200 CPS Main Event ticket.
Konstantin Faerber limps in the small blind and pays for his 14 blinds with Kings when Miro Alilovic shoves in the big blind. Miro returns Ace 7 and doesn't touch for a trifecta start where there's still €417,000 in prizepool to be shared!
The Final (in seat order)
Konstantin Faerber (Germany) 10,000,000 (31 blinds)
Miro Alilovic (France) 21,000,000 (70 blinds)
Rayane Mokhtar (France) 32,000,000 (107 blinds)

21:30
Faerber misses HU (€90,200)
The game is still being played on the 150,000 - 300,000 blinds (300,000) and there are only two players left... two French players who will be taking over from Omar Lakhdari at the Belgian Poker Challenge. Konstantin Faerber gave up the ghost 15 minutes after Samir Boudeliou.
The German doubled up once, opened twice and didn't win the hand before losing a final blind battle to Rayane Moktavarium. Falling just above 4 million in chips, Faerber finally went all in from the big blind with Ace Ten after an open on the button from Miroslav Alilovic.
The Frenchman called King 6 of hearts and provoked the head's up at the end of a 9 3 6 9 Queen board... exit in 3rd place for €90,200 for the man who has already won a €2,200 Eureka High-Roller but signs his biggest career win.
With €327,000 left in the prizepool, the two Frenchmen could well get on well together, as the duo have already secured a €2,200 CPS Main Event ticket and a cheque for €127,000.
Chipcount Head's up
Miroslav Alilovic 26 500 000
Rayane Mokhtar 36 500 000

23:10
One Hour Head's Up
It's been an hour of heads-up play for Miro Alilovic and Rayane Mokhtar; the two Frenchmen haven't given up and haven't managed to agree on a deal despite talks.
In the previous level, Moktavarium was down to 40 blinds and 12 million... he shoved preflop. A quarter of an hour after falling behind, Rayane took a big pot to get back on his opponent's wheel.
With levels now at 50 minutes and the heads-up now at 250,000 - 500,000 (500,000), Miroslav remains in the lead with 34 million to his opponent's 29. The race for the BPC 2024 remains wide open!

00:30
Miro Alilovic Runner-up (€127,000)
Miro Alilovic dominated Day 4 and was on hand at the start of the final to do the boss's job, but ultimately fell at the final hurdle of the €1,100 Belgian Poker Challenge. The Frenchman pockets €127,000 and a CPS Main Event ticket worth €2,200, as the last duel was not settled.
Miro started the last duel in the lead and took it in his stride to extend his lead. The final duel lasted 90 minutes, and at the halfway stage Alilovic had never been so close to the title. Rayane Mokhtar was down to 12 million on 200,000 - 400,000 (400,000)...
A quarter of an hour after this highest point, Miro Alilovic saw Moktavarium join him and then overtake him. The Frenchman followed up with a string of winning shots and, after 40 minutes of play on 250,000 - 500,000 (500,000), Rayane didn't miss the first match point.
After 90 minutes of a "rather fluid" duel, according to the champion, Miroslav Alilovic 3-bet shove 22 blinds with 8 and 9 of clubs. Rayane Mokhtar called within seconds with ace-queen and nobody hit. A 7 3 King King 2 table brought the tournament to an end, and Miroslav greeted his opponent with congratulations before slipping away to see his clan, a clan who loudly supported him at the foot of the televised table. Proof of the good time they had and of the respect between the last two BPC 2024 players, Miroslav and his crew returned to pose for the champion's photo.
Winner of a huge Estrellas High-Roller in Barcelona for €512,000, Miro Alilovic signs his second career 6-figure win. The native of the Ile-de-France region is now in the Top 50 of the All Time Money List France, and just overtakes Patrick Bruel with this result... "I'd never played Miro before, but he's a great guy, we had a lot of laughs and a good time at the tables over the last two days," concluded the winner in reference to his runner-up.

Moktavarium champion of the BPC 2024 (€200,000)
On Saturday evening, after validating his ticket for the final, Rayane Mokhtar told us that the Circus Casino Resort in Namur was his favorite establishment. There's no reason why his feelings should have changed this Sunday in Namur after his triumph in the Belgian Poker Challenge 2024. Moktavarium succeeds Omar Lakhdari and wins the BPC 2024, which attracted 1,259 entries... with humility and a big, unstable player's smile. "Can we sign up for €550, I'm still hungry for cards?" the winner asked seriously and directly just after the final river.
"I'm ecstatic even if I don't express it much... winning at home, I'm super happy, it gives me pleasure, enormous pleasure," added Rayane a minute later, time enough to greet Miroslav Alilovic, runner-up for €127,000. "I'm at a loss for words, but winning here is great, Namur is the casino where I love to play," continued the winner.
The champion thus pockets €200,000 and a €2,200 CPS Main Event ticket, without a deal since the two last protagonists failed to reach an agreement. It's Rayane's biggest career win and second live success... his previous one time was when he won the SuperSide WaSOP for €50,000, right here in Namur. "Winning this BPC is an achievement, but the financial security was built on a process, it's the continuity of a job," says the champion before paying a long tribute.
"There was a lot of preparation at the end of Day 4... thanks to my coaches and the group I'm working with at the moment, they'll recognize each other, when I got back last night I did a few simulations which enabled me to avoid a few pitfalls [....] I'm very happy to be in this group, I'm well surrounded by talented people but above all hard workers, they're generous, they're the ones who won... I'm just the relay of this group work even if I'm the one who has the trophy. I insist they are my greatest asset, they will recognize themselves", developed the boss of the BPC 2024 before talking about technique and mental skills.
Moktavarium was inexhaustible on the contribution of this group, his critical eye enabling him to move forward. A seeker of life, Rayane Mokhtar left nothing to chance to capture his finest victory. "It was a tough final to tackle, we had to let the chipleader do the work, not swim against the tide... Miro did the job", Rayane slipped in. Not one to throw flowers at himself, Rayane was happy to point the spotlight on those who have made him the player he is, and "wasn't shying away from the pleasure" of having won.
"The direct result doesn't correlate with any lessons... it's hard for me to be proud, even if I know where the roots of this success lie", said the humble champion, "only too happy to have played against players of this caliber", thinking in particular of Konstantin Faerber (3rd for €90,200, ed.).
"I'm not setting myself any goals [...] but just to play in this kind of final with so much at stake, with such an incredible structure, is a pleasure. When you go all the way, there's no adjective to describe it," concluded Rayane Mokhtar. Bravo champion, it's time to savor... but not for too long. Rayane Mokhtar is indeed an unstoppable champion, as he concluded the interview with one last nugget.
"It's time to party a little but not too much, see you tomorrow for the 250€ PKO"... even the winner of the pricnipal tournament knows that there are still tournaments to be played on this BPC festival. See you on Monday for the end of the Mystery Bounty and the final ancillary tournaments!
