Start of Day 1E

The fifth of eight starting days for the €250 Holiday Festival Main Event is underway. Play has begun with 60 players in blinds 100 - 200 (200)... the aim will be to get those starting 50,000 chips in over 15 30-minute levels.

After the first 4 opening sessions, 101 players have validated a ticket for Day 2 on Saturday, September 7. These players will return on 5000 - 10 000 (10 000) with levels extended to 40 minutes, enough to develop a good poker and try to capture a share of the prize pool which should be well over the guaranteed €250 000.

35 minutes to play on Day 1E of the Holyday Festival Main Event and the leaderboard already shows 111 entries for 110 players in contention. Eliminated after 24 minutes of play, Yannick Lapoirie went straight back into the pot. A big day ahead for this 5th flight of the week's main event!

Younes Akbal is here, as are Ruben Steenhuis, Marc Hannesse, Patrick Resseler, Eric Boge and Dennie Cordromp. Elie Halousse, Hervé Decker, Ivo Hermens, Patrick Hutsch, Pascal Honai, Arne Noel, Wesley Peinen, Sabrina Senden and Ruben Tack have also already started their day at poker.

Registration is open until the start of level 10, at around 10.15pm... The end of the day will take place a little after 1am. For the moment, this is the 2nd of 15 levels on the program, and blinds are now 100 - 300 (300). 

Pump it up

Things are heating up at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur. The table for the €250 Holiday Main Event reads as follows 125 players seated at the tables for 130 entrants after 66 minutes of play. 

The blinds went up to 200 - 400 (400) with an average of 52,000 chips and regulars still arriving. Already qualified, but with 8 blinds, Mehidi Sahli retakes his chance to profit from stack choice if he packs chips again. 

Mischa Wieten, Jan Verbraeken, Rachid Sekkai, Kevin Pietquin, Nikolas Wicquart, Jhonn Lienard, Stéphane Figoni, Patrice Libert or Aurélie Dassi are also in the game...

More Than 800...

Players continue to arrive and re-enter when they jump... With a quarter of an hour left to play on level 4, the board now shows 147 players in contention for 161 entries. That's enough to push the number of entries over the 800 mark, if you add up all the starting sessions already played.

The game is being played for 300 - 600 (600) and those who were there at the start are now approaching the two-hour mark poker. At the end of this 4th level, the game will be paused for the traditional first half-hour break.

Break

As the first break of Day 1D draws to a close, play resumes with 151 players for 176 entries and an average of 58,000 chips. The blinds will be 400 - 800 (800) and players continue to enter... like Anne Trebitsch and Nicolas Destercq, eliminated from the Mystery Bounty just before the final. Summer winner Ismael Joly arrived before the break... This trio will have more or less the starting stack and 50,000 chips at the restart... a far cry fromAndreas Gondrom, who climbed the starting stack three times!

The 200-entry mark was passed just before the start of Level 6 on Day 1D of the Holiday Festival. With 25 minutes left to play in blinds 500 - 1000 (1000), 156 players remain in the ring at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur... for 205 entries.

The average is 65,000 chips, and Yvan Marsus would love to have that many, as he's just under the starting stack of 50,000. Olivier Baeten has also arrived, as have Maradona Abaz, Okan Bulut and Viorel Merisan. 

Approach dinner

Level 8 has begun, the last level before the 70-minute dinner break. When play resumes at 9.40pm, one level will remain for late registration...

Participation has risen to 222 entrants on this fifth starting day of the €250 Holiday Main Event, with 148 competing in blinds 800 - 1600 (1600), averaging 75,000 chips.

Farid Azarkan has just re-entered, while Gilles Magny is calling it a day for this flight. Aurélie Dassi has also joined the rail, as have Rachid Sekai and Fouad El Mouhmouh... 

Dinner-Break

Resumption at 9:45 p.m. on blinds 1000 - 2000 (2000) for the final round of registration. 129 players have taken a dinner break, with the counter at 231 entries... the average is provisionally at 75,000 chips. Some players have already raised tons over the first 4 hours of poker on Day 1D... Thibault Fournier has raised 8 times!

Level 10 is already well underway, with competition continuing in blinds 1,000 - 2,500 (2,500) on the fifth of eight starting days of the €250 Holiday Main Event. Marc Hannesse, Patrick Hutsch, Anne Trebitsch, Viorel Merisan and Claus Spieckermann surrendered their weapons after late registration and are no longer in the running... they can move on to Day 1F Turbo currently in progress. 

Top 100

The blinds are now 1500 - 3000 (3000) on Day 1E of the festival's main tournament. There are only 100 players left with just over 15 minutes to go on level 11...

The final break of the day will take place at the end of level 12, and the remaining players will then play three half-hour levels before the final wrap-up.

It's still possible to register for Day 1F Turbo, and players like Farid Azarkan, Yvan Marsus, Rudi Mulders, Fouad El Mouhmouh, Gerrit Blanckaert, Fabrizio Quattrocchi and Gilles Guignard will be able to try their luck if they wish...

Last break

Play resumed ten minutes ago at blinds 2000 - 5000 (5000) for the final three half-hour levels of Day 1E of the Holiday Festival Main Event. Of the 238 entrants to this fifth starting day, 74 were still in the running, with an average of 161,000 chips. Winner of the €14,000 Badbeat Jackpot, Avo Hoe is still going strong on this flight... On Thursday, a total of 57 players validated their ticket for Saturday 2pm, bringing the number of qualifiers for the payday to 158. Friday is traditionally the busiest day of the week, so the guarantee is sure to go through the roof!

44 players pass Day 1E

The sixth of eight starting days recorded the second-best attendance, with 44 players wrapping up chips after 15 half-hour levels on Thursday at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.


238 entries were counted on Day 1E, and that's once again less than 20% of the field left to bag. The money will be very close on Saturday from 2pm onwards in blinds 5,000 - 10,000 (10,000).

With their stack multiplied by ten in 7 hours 30 minutes at poker, and a block of 50 blinds, the leading group of this flight should be able to serenely offer themselves a min-cash for the new season. 

Belgian Michel Peeters (pictured) finished ahead of Chau Han Soo (499,000), Salvatore Sablone (494,000) and Avo Hoe (473,000), who won the hand that shared a €50,000 badbeat jackpot earlier in the game. Tino de Zutter (436,000) completes this friendly, 100% Belgian Top 5.
