#Holiday Poker Fest - High Roller

16:55
26 tickets on the satellite
Prior to the kick-off of the two-day €600 High-Roller Event #12, the Circus Casino Resort de Namur staged a €110 satellite... This tournament, played at 10-minute levels, attracted 170 entrants, generating a prizepool of €15,980. This was enough to create 26 tickets, with €380 left over for 27th place!
After 20 minutes of bubbling, and three hours of play, it was Ekin Kandemir who failed to take the ticket and consoled himself with a small profit. Dutchman Hoi Leung was the last to leave empty-handed...

18:25
Already 60 players at the start...
As the eliminated players from the Holiday Main Event gradually make their way into the €600-entry Event #12 High-Roller, the festival's most expensive tournament has begun with 60 players in the running.
Participants receive 50,000 chips and will compete over two days in 30-minute levels. There are 11 levels on Day 1, finishing at around 1am.
The one-hour dinner break begins at 8.30pm, after the fifth level. Registration closes after the first level of Day 2, at 2.40 p.m.!
On Sunday, the game resumes at 2 p.m. with a level for registration or re-entry. All the more reason to boost the prize pool of a tournament guaranteeing €50,000, and which should at least double the prizepool!

19:33
Warranty Exceeded
Level 4 has just begun, and blinds are now 200 - 500 (500) with 124 players in the running at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.
Event #12 High Roller Holiday at €600 per entry is open until the start of Level 2 on Day 2, at 2.40pm on Sunday, and 140 entries have been received so far. That's enough to boost the prizepool to over €69,000!

20:42
Dinner break
The action resumes at 9:30 p.m. in blinds 300 - 700, with 115 players currently in the running and 163 registered. The High-Roller prize pool now stands at almost €81,000... with 11 levels of 30 minutes each to be played on Day 1, and registration open until the end of level 12 at 2.35pm on Sunday.
Stéphane Figoni, Alain Fleurent, David Opdebeeck, Daniel Dodet, Theo Erkamps, Noah Alem, Salvatore Alessi, Andrea Caizzi, Samuel Bovy and Thibault Fournier are in the tournament, as are Walter van Camberg, Morgan Poisson, David Olurebi, Louis Lourthie, Ingo Paulus and Antoine Vranken (photo).

22:30
Almost €100,000 prize pool
The blinds have just been raised to 500 - 1000 (1000) in the €600 Holiday Festival High Roller Event #12. There will be an extra level at the end of this one and then a final break followed by two levels before the bagging.
There are 118 players left in the field of 197 entrants to a popular tournament. The €50,000 guarantee is long gone, and there's now over €97,000 in the prize pool! Simon Bouaksa, Reda Haidar, Morten faas, Mihaita Georgita, Andreas Gondrom or Claudio Guadagnino are now in the game...
Resumption on Sunday at 2 p.m. on 1000 - 2500 (2500) with 20 blinds for those with the starting stack and latecomers. Registrations and re-entries are permitted throughout the first level of Day 2, with late registrations closing at 2.30pm on Sunday!

00:59
Alain Fleurent ahead, already €106,812 in prize money
While entries are still open until the last hand of the first level of Day 2, the Final Day will start at 2pm on Sunday. Levels will be half-hourly, as on Saturday's opening day...
Day 1 of the Holiday Festival High Roller Event #12 was a sell-out, with 215 entrants and a provisional prizepool of €106,812. A total of 86 players completed the 11 half-hour levels on Day 1, with an average of 125,000 jeons on the restart over 1,000 - 2,500 (2,500)...
The Alain Fleurent who proved the most affable. A regular at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur, and incidentally already the winner of an identically-structured high-roller here, the Frenchman bagged up 558,000 chips or over 200 blinds on the restart.
Good day also for Noah Alem (327,000), Claus Spieckermann (324,000), Walter van Camberg (317,000), Samuel Bovy (228,500 - below) and Morten Faas (225,000), all members of the provisional Top 10.
JS Denissa (216,000), Aurelio Martin garcia (177,000), Salvatore Alessi (168,500), Andreas Gondrom (146,000), David Opdebeeck (129,000), Pierre Neuville (119,000), Omar Lakhdari (118,000) and many others have cleared the hurdle...
Fabrizio Quattrocchi, Ercan Atmaca, Negming Wang, Louis Lourthie, Donovan Kool, David Kahan, Pietro Amoroso, Damien Miesse, Andrea Caizzi, Daniel Dodet, Thibault Fournier, Claudio Guadagnino and Denneth Rodgers will also be back with more than 30 blinds when the action resumes.
We'll be back on Sunday afternoon to follow the conclusion of this tournament...

14:39
240 entries and €119,232 prizepool
Entries and re-entries were allowed during the first level and the first half-hour of the Final Day of this €600-entry Event #12 High-Roller on Sunday. Some twenty brave souls tried (or tried again) their luck with 20 blinds to bring the total event entries at 240.
The players in the money will share just over €119,000, and there should be around 35-36 places paid. With 99 players in the running at the start of the 1500 - 3000 (3000) level, the bubble isn't just around the corner...

15:35
22,675 to win, 31 paid places
Participation in the €600 High Roller Holiday Event #12 has been corrected to 241 entries for a final prizepool of €119,489. The final 31 players will share the prize pool with a €1,075 min-cash and a €22,675 first prize...

After a break, play resumed on 2000 - 5000 (5000) with 68 players still in the running for the 31 paid places. The average is 177,000 chips with Alain Fleurent still in pole position... but Matthieu Collin (500,000) and Mustapha Rahmoune (535,000) have closed the gap.

Money is coming
The money is approaching, as only 42 players remain in the running for this Holiday Festival Event #12 High-Roller.
Play resumes in blinds 5,000 - 10,000 (10,000), with all eyes on the 31 paid spots. At the head of the table, Gregory Regnault (720,000) and Noah Alem (665,000) are probably thinking more about the €22,675 at the top... we've got to secure the ITM first!
For Omar Lakhdari, eliminated with As Roi suité against As Roi dépreillé, Nicolas Plassier, Lars Vogel, Pierre Neuville or Greg Feyants there will be nothing on this tournament. No paid places either for Tonio Ruggiu, Andreas Gondrom, Christianus Lovrencevic, Negming Wang or Olga Stilou...

19:15
The bubble for Walid
Just as the pace had slowed for a quarter of an hour, Rajakumar Rex gave up the ghost in 33rd position. The next outgoing player would be the last to leave empty-handed...
With 4 players at risk, but with the smallest stack, Jean-Pierre Cruccas decided to take his chances. With just under three blinds on the button, JPC sent in the jacks... paid for by Antoine Vranken in the big blinds with 9 and 5 suited.
One board later, Cruccas gave himself some breathing space in front of Walid Belmessaoud, just to his left. On the next hand, Walid finally sent in his 6 blinds with ace-queen. Antoine Vranken pays again, this time with Ace 9... and hits a 9 on the flop to end the suspense 16 minutes before the dinner break.
In that time, there's been some damage... Resumption at 8.10pm with 29 players on blinds 10,000 - 20,000 (20,000) and an average of 21 blinds.

Paul Martin King of the High Roller (€12,710)
After the exit of Alain Fleurent (6th), the last five players in contention tried to make a decision in a straight draw before coming to an agreement. The deal left €710 to the winner and the two €2200 CPS Main Event tickets to the two head's up protagonists... in the end, it was Paul Martin who came out on top in his first live performance.
After Lucas Bertrand's success in the Holiday Main Event, it's now the turn of a Frenchman to win on the High-roller. Full house in Belgium for the French!
Runner-up but in the lead at the time of the deal, Antoine Vranken missed out on the trophy but not on the ticket, and walked away with a handsome ticket to this €600 tournament. The 5 members of the deal obtain a 5-figure prize and a share of a final prizepool of €119,849!
