321,000€ already in the kitty, Rens Buijs at the helm
The preliminaries are over for the €2,200 High-Roller Championship of the Belgian Poker Challenge 2024. Day 1 was spread over 10 45-minute levels and 72 of the 169 entrants found a bag... while registration remains open.
Play resumes with 50-minute levels, on 1000 - 2500 (2500) with the possibility of re-entry or registering in-extremis until 1.50pm on Saturday and the first hand of level 12.
The rest of the competition promises to be a tight affair, with BPC 2023 winner Omar Lakhdari in ambush on the provisional podium. Namur regular Rens Buijs has made the cut for the time being, but nothing is done yet in this tournament with a prizepool of €321,000.
The Top 10 also includes Romain Locquet, the whimsical British player Will Kassouf and EPT finalist Umberto Ruggeri. Frenchman Daniel Tordjmann was also well placed, while local Walter Van Camberg made a comeback. Dropping to 4,000 chips from the starting 50,000, he packed in a nice block for Day 2...

William Kassouf bubble-boy
The bubble of Event #24 High-Roller stretched over 90 minutes, and in the end it was William Kassouf who didn't take his share of a €358,911 prizeppol.
Play then continued through to the final...

Simon Wiciak short but in the High-Roller final
Only 9 players remain, all of whom are guaranteed a €9,520 prize in the €2,200 High-Roller of the Belgan Poker Challenge, which attracted 189 entrants. Most of the €358,911 prizepool is still up for grabs on Sunday from 1pm.
Daniel Tordjman, Vincent Thys and Team Pro PokerStars Simon Wiciak are there. The EPT Barcelona winner doesn't have insane depth, but he'll be selling his hide dearly on the 15,000 - 30,000 (30,000) restart. This final showdown will take place over 50-minute levels!
