After a Day 2 of almost 8 hours of poker action, the field at the €330 Havana Main Mystery Bounty has been whittled down to 5 tables.

There were 1,532 players on the starting line and another 466 on Saturday. Now only 38 are in the running, led by an overwhelming chipleader. Sandu Dimtru has 7 of the tournament's 76 million chips, and has been churning out scalps without hitting one of the big bounty prizes. The two €25,000 envelopes were drawn by Amir and Julien, leaving 20% of the €191,500 Mystery Bounty prize pool for Sunday's Final Day.

Survivors are guaranteed a €705 payout, and will battle it out for €36,000 on Sunday from 2 p.m. on the 30,000 - 60,000 (60,000) replay, with 50-minute levels.

The final will be streamed with the cards revealed. It's going to be a hell of a Sunday, with the continuation of the High Roller, where entries are still open until 2.30 p.m. (215 entrants and €107,000 prizepool at the close of Day 1, editor's note), or the traditional Sunday Special!

Break

It's break time, and the game resumes with 25 players on the 60,000 - 120,000 blinds (120,000) and an average of 3 million. 

Danny Covyn was the last player to give up the ghost, a few minutes before the first half-hour break.

Carl will not be King

Second in the chipcount at the start of Day 3, Carl Dobrzelewski lost a big flip at 50 blinds before going all in with Ace Valet. He was paid by A7, the dealer flopped a Jack and a 7, a second 7 on the turn opening a flush draw for the Team Croupier member, and a nice river brick, heading for the rail.

Carl finishes in 22nd place for €1,085, and has claimed another victim today for an additional mini-bounty...

Boge de là


One bonus after another for Sandu Dumitru... the good news is that he didn't manage to pick the €10,000 envelope. For the rest, success has accompanied the tournament boss for many hours now. This time, Eric Boge senses that something is amiss, but logically pays with kings when the boss pushes him all-in. 

Dumitru reveals the Aces, hits flush on the flop and despite a 4-card straight draw on the river, Boge logically stays behind. On to the rail for €1,085...

Sandu climbs to 10.7 million for an average of 3.7 million...

Semi-finals approaching

Stéphanie Metzger had had a complicated start to the tournament, but bowed out in 20th place for €1300, leaving Somsong to represent the caste of players...

The Frenchwoman 3-bet shove at the end of the hand, but Valentin Delannoy had opened with queens. He pays to eliminate his opponent, who can't find any help with his 8s...

Reconquista

Djamal Boutaleb just passed Sandu Dumitru. In the Top 5 going into Day 3, Djamal finally found some action with the Aces. 

The pot is already substantial preflop and Djamal checks-raises to 1 million on a baby flop with a flush draw. Boutaleb simply pays before stopping the move on the turn by going all-in after a second nugget. It doesn't take long for Sandu to fold, dropping to 9 million chips while the Frenchman now has 9.4 million...

With 30 minutes to go before a 20-minute break, the Havana Main Event is averaging 37 blinds...

Semi-Finals

The game is paused after another elimination. Once again it's Sandu Dumitru who cleans up... Outplayed by Djamal Boutaleb, the Dutchman got back into the fight, put on the pressure and won three short shots before another explosion.

This time the boss engaged in a raise war with Abas Amani... who paid preflop for his 4.4 million Kings stack.

There's Ace-King in front and Sandu will finish with a full house of Aces through 2s to soar to almost 17 million in chips. He then drew from the bonus pool... for another €150 bonus.

Amani pockets €1,460, missing the redraw which is currently in progress. Play is paused and will resume with 16 players just before a short break.

Felix ne Chatte Pas

Open 300,000, Tap for 1.3 million from Felix Elgosi in the big blind, Valentin Delannoy logically calls from the button with Ace 6. Felix flips King-Queen, hits a Queen on the flop and a King-river to give himself some breathing space. Heads up to 2.7 million as the blinds rise to 100,000 - 200 (200,000). Delannoy drops to 4.3 million.

Two hands later, Felix sends his all-in straight from the button with King 6. He's paid by Kevin Schaeffer who finds Ace King of diamonds in BB. The dealer unlocks a flop with a 6 and two diamonds... a 3 of diamonds river provokes a balancing act. Sandru Dumitru changes tables!

Lecomte is no good for Beeksma

David Lecomte doubled up for the third time in 10 minutes, going from 500,000 chips to 3.3 million or 16-17 blinds... he overtook Dutchman Auke "Bergkamp" who now has just 1.5 million. 

Auke Beeksma finally sends it all to the Cutoff with a small Ace... And see David reshove from the button with Ace-King. A King on the flop ends Auke's final hopes. 

The Dutchman pocketed €2,700 for his 10th-place finish. It took 5 hours and 30 minutes to reduce the field from 38 to 9 players on Day 3 of the Havana Main Event... Lecomte climbed back to 5 million for an average of 8.5 million.

Streaming of the Havana Main Event Mystery Bounty Final

With one €10,000 and one €5,000 random bonus remaining, the 223 players in the money shared a Mystery prize pool of €191,500 with two €25,000 Max envelopes.

Valentin first eliminated from the final (€3,711)

A short half-hour of finals and then it's over. Valentin Delannoy opened shove As Valet suit for 23 blinds under the gun when he was 7th out of 9 in the stack... and Shin Delhuille woke up with the Ten in the big blind. 

The chipleader paid for a flip and his pair held, allowing him to climb to 21 million chips or 27% of the chips in circulation.

VGG Erwan Gé, eighth out of 1,532 players in the Havana Main Event. A few minutes after the restart, Erwan defended his big blind to find a King Queen 9 flop, which he hit... but a little less than the chipleader. 

Simon "Shin" Delhuille had opened Valet Ten and sucked up his opponent's chips to capture 28.5 of the 76.6 million chips in circulation.

The next runner-up (7th) will pocket €5,930 for his run and the proceeds of the split of all remaining envelopes to 9 left (€2,360 each) plus any bonuses earned since the money entry to 223 players.

The final half-hour proved fatal for Fatih Yusufoglu (7th) and Timothée Laplace (6th), enough to guarantee the tournament's 5 survivors a 5-figure win. 

Timothée sent in 15 blinds in the small blind with Ace Valet, only to be crushed by Djamal Boutlaeb's Ace Dame, who had opened with a hijack. 

Timothée takes home €7,710, plus €2,360 from the envelopes split at the start of the final, plus any winnings from his run.

Dutchman Kevin Schaeffer lost out at the foot of the podium in the wake of the last Belgian's exit. He takes home €13,125 and €2,360 from the early final deal, plus any winnings from his run on this Mystery Bounty, which attracted 1,532 entrants.

Sandu Dumitru wins Havana Mystery Bounty Main Event (€30,860)

Sandu Dumitru wins the €330 Havana Mystery Bounty Main Event, which attracted 1,532 entrants to the Circus Casino Resort in Namur. The Dutchman signs his first success on the poker circuit.

Chipleader at the start of Day 3, which began with 38 survivors and was played over 50-minute levels, Dumitru dominated until the last two tables. He was overtaken by Simon Delhuille before managing to squeeze into a 3-way deal. 

Slightly in the lead at the time of the arrangement, Namur's serial perfumer Djamal Boutaleb lost out in head's up on a bluff attempt. These two players will meet again at the end of 2023 in Namur for the year-end Circus Poker Series, as they pocketed a bonus ticket. 

With its Mystery Bounty format, the last 223 players in the running shared a prize pool of almost €120,000 in random prizes. Two players cashed in directly for €25,000!
