On Remet Ca

DSO Namur second! Day 1B of the €550 DeepStack Open got underway at 2pm with about twenty players... and to spice up the start of the week and attract a few curious onlookers, the organizers have modified the program.

Each departure day includes 13 levels but not of the same duration. On Day 1B of a tournament guaranteeing a €400,000 prizepool, participants will compete in the following events 6 levels of 40 minutes then 7 levels of 50 minutes. That's 70 more minutes of poker than on Day 1A... Tuesday (Day 1C from 2pm, editor's note) will have the same pattern.

Dinner break on the second opening day from 6.20 p.m., for 70 minutes, and when we resume at the start of level 7 the levels will drop to 50 minutes. Three levels and 2 hours 30 minutes of poker before a break that will mark the late registration closes at around 10.15 p.m.

The end of Day 1B is scheduled for a little before 2 a.m...

15:01

Action Table

Two exits since kick-off an hour ago... the game is now running on blinds 200 - 400 (400) and the average has climbed to almost 53,000 chips with the eliminations within minutes of each other of Soner Guzel and Adrien Ryvol. The duo have already re-entered and the counter now shows 34 entries...

A regular at Namur, Soner quickly jumped after sitting down, while Adrien Ryvol first lost Dame Valet suit against Ace Roi to fall to 6,000 chips. The Grand Prix Annecy runner-up finally sent the rest under the gun with King 8 of diamonds.

In the big blind, Gregory Schyns paid Roi 9 and hit a straight 9 to climb to 80,000 pawns and confirm his good start. The man who was chipleader going into the Final Day of a Mini dso, which he eventually finished in 14th place, also came straight back to his seat... yesterday on Day 1A his brother Maxime had climbed into the top three of the 31 qualifiers from the first session.

15:23

Knock Knock

The second of the eight starting days isn't quite crazy yet, with 32 players in the running and 37 entrants at the start of the third level of play. The average is 58,000 chips in blinds 200 - 500 (50)... Who's there on Day 1B?

Among the regulars, Ken Claessens (above on Sunday when he finished 41st in the Mini DSO for a €500 min-cash) and Harrie Snijders have already entered the fray.

Armino Leonardo is here too, as is yesterday's Turbo Freezout winner, Egyptian Rami Awad. Aurélie Sampaio has decided not to play cash games and is also on Day 1B of the DSO Namur 2025... Thomas de Kerchove, Marc Gets, Arthur Navellou, Gregory Demaret, Armand Muratoglu and Daniel Rosero are also in the game.

16:28

First Break

3 levels and two hours of poker, the game resumes on blinds 300 - 600 (600) after a 20-minute break... 37 players are on track for 42 entries, with an average of 57,000 chips.

Just before the break, Yann Nasser (below) had just managed to double up. Open from the Luxembourger, and one call later, C. Demir decides to 3-bet... without scaring anyone away. The three of them end up on an ace-ten-seven flop with a club draw, the continuation bet paid only by Nasser. On the red 6 turn, Nasser sends in what's left and gets paid by Ace King. The winner of the Back To Namur tournament in March 2022 (after a deal for just over €28,000) turns over a pair of tens and the Valet jack launches his tournament... Demir falls in the danger zone.

PMU player Etienne De Silva continues his festival tour, and after the BPT Deauville where he finished runner-up, he's in Namur to test this second edition of the DSO Namur... next door to Stéphane Meo who can introduce him to the Circus Casino Resort, the duo have got off to a good start. Etienne is even chipleader!

Call-Muck

Skirmish between Etienne de Silva and Stéphane Meo with 10 minutes left to play before the blinds go up to 400 - 800 (800). EtiennePKR opens under the gun with a min-raise to 1200 and Stéphane pays just to his left to bring in the big blind as well. £

On an Ace 3 4 flop with three clubs, Stéphane takes over the initiative for 1300 chips and provokes a duel against Etienne. Etienne will check-call 2400 on turn 5 red and then call-muck after reflection on a bet of 7,200 chips on a river Ten. Stéphane reveals Dame Dix de trèfle for the flopped flush.

This raised Stéphane to 87,000 chips, while the Frenchman dropped to 125,000. With an average of 57,000 chips, it's time to look ahead...

17:24

Fight(s)

There are 10 minutes left to play in blinds 400 - 800 (800), with 41 players now in the running for 51 entrants and an average of 62,000 chips.

Adrien Ryvol and Ken Claessens start off with a good battle. Adrien opened under the gun and Ken paid in the middle as a third player joined the party to discover a King-Queen-4 flop with two diamonds. No actin and Adrien's small bet is only paid by Ken on the Ace of Hearts turn.

On the rival 8 of diamonds, Adrien bets small again... and Ken Claessens raises the stakes to 8,000 chips. Ryvol thinks and raises to 27,000, but the Belgian pays off rather quickly. Claessens call-mucks against the tricolor's 6 and 7 of diamonds... Ken drops to 43,000 chips while Adrien reraises to 84,000.

Stéphane Blaser finally finished fourth in the Mini DS0 after starting the final round in shorts and red lantern mode. He opened the hostilities with an opening under the gun paid by Aurélie Sampaio at the cutoff. On the button, Germany's Dominik Kopitzke raises the stakes to 8,000 chips. Blaser calls and Sampaio folds... leading the dealer to unpack a Queen Queen 7 board.

Stéphane donkes 5,000 chips and is quickly paid off. On the Jack of Spades turn, which opens a color draw, Stéphane Blaser (above) sends another 12,000 pawns into just under 19,000 chips. This is paid by the German player and a King of Spades completes the board.

Stéphane weighs up his options before checking and his opponent checks a few seconds later. The Luxembourger reveals the 9s... no good against Kopitzke's mismatched Ace-King, who takes the opportunity to climb to 120,000 chips, in the lead on Day 1B.

Jaded, Stephane falls to 38,000.

17:52

Approach dinner

It's snack time for poker players and aperitif time for workers... but soup time is approaching on Day 1B of the DSO Namur 2025. There are 27 minutes left to play in the 500 - 1000 (1000) blinds, heading for the 70-minute break.

42 players are in the running, with now 54 entrants on what will be the slowest day of the week. Levels will drop to 50 minutes on return from the locker room, starting at 7.30pm, and with 7 levels to play for, some players are expected to spend the evening at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.

Registration is open until 10.15 p.m., with the game finishing at around 1.50 a.m...

No more eating chips, we get down to business with a 70-minute dinner-break. Resumption at 7.30pm for 7 levels of 50 minutes each with blinds 600 - 1200 (1200)...

The provisional average is 72,000 chips, with 39 players in the running for 56 entrants... and Etienne de Silva who has been overtaken. With 194,000 chips after 6 levels of 40 minutes, the Frenchman remains in contention with Germany's Marcus Keimer. The provisional kaizer stands at 197,000 in chips, almost 4 times the starting stack.

Reprise

An entry during the break, with the arrival of Sam Hilger from Luxembourg and a regular from Namur. The field is now down to 39 for 57 entrants, with an average of 71,000 chips, since Rami Awad (below) gave up after the dinner break.

The Egyptian opened on the button with an absent big blind and sent in 43,000 chips with King Jack when Heni Mokni (below) 3-bet him to 10,000 small-blind chips. Mokni snaps with Ace King and stays ahead to climb to 150,000 chips.

Direct re-entry to enjoy the 50-minute levels for the Poker One player?

20:19

 110 minutes late reg'

There are 45 minutes left to play on level 8 and therefore 1 hour and 50 minutes to register for Day 1B of the DSO Namur 2025. The second of the eight opening days will be the least crowded of the week, the counter having just risen to 61 entries with 39 players still in contention.

The average is 78,000 chips and Stéphane Blaser has just stood up, heading for the exit. Mike Neuens, Marc Gets, Ken Claessens and Jeff Kirsch will also need to get their chips in if they're to make it through this session...

In the arrivals department, CPS 2024 champion Romain le Dantec made his appearance. The WSOP winner was coming off a €1,100 high-roller in Namur at the end of January, where he was unable to defend his chances to the end as his big stack turned over while he was suffering from food poisoning. Nevertheless, he finished in 8th place...

21:07

Flash

Romain le Dantec is on his second attempt, as is Sam Hilger. These two players arrived at the dinner break and are on track as blinds rise to 1000 - 1500 (1500) for the final level of late registration. There will be a short break at the end of level 9, with late registration closing in an hour's time at 10.10pm.

Romain first gambled against Mathieu Collin. The Belgian threw a "si tu passe je fais tapis dans le noir" at Yann Nasser on the button and the Luxembourger folded... Colin put in his 22,000 chips and Romain snapped in the dark to return Ten and 3. Colin revealed Jack 5 to stay ahead and raise to even one board later. Le Dantec was on his way to the cashier three minutes later.

34 players remain for 64 entries and an average of 94,000 chips. With 262,500 chips, Germany's Marcus Keimer is still ahead.

21:53

Nasser Chairman

With ten minutes left to play on the final registration level, Day 1B of the DSO Namur 2025 is now dominated by Yann Nasser. The Luxembourger is up to 300,000 chips on the last deals played at blinds 1,000 - 1,500 (1,500).

A short break arrives to help swell the field of 66 entrants. Yann Nasser has three times the average, while former German boss Marcus Keimer (120,000 - photo) has lost some of his superb form. Things are going well for Harrie Snijders (270,000), as the Dutchman has overtaken Etienne Silva de Oliveira (215,000).

22:10

32 breakaway players

The table shows 66 entries on Day 1B, pushing the provisional attendance for the DSO Namur 2025 to 199 with 7 minutes to go and plenty of time to register.

When the action resumes on level 10, 32 players will be back in the 1000 - 2000 blinds (2000), with Yann Nasser in the driver's seat at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur with 3 hours 20 minutes of poker remaining.

67 which make 200

Rayane Moktavarium jumped in-extremis in the field on Day 1B to bring the final attendance for the second of the eight opening days to 67. The least frequented flight of the week enabled the €400,000 prizepool tournament to see its attendance rise to 200 entrants.

There are now just 28 entrants on this flight, with 24 minutes left to play on the 1000 - 2000 (2000). Mokta, the BPC 2024 winner, didn't last long and has since been joined on the rail by Adrien Ryvol and Soner Guzel.

Harrie Snijders (below) and Yann Nasser are chasing each other for the lead at 350,000 chips... Nasser has just raised to button position after a river bet fromHeni Mokni in a 77,000-chip pot. We're on 5 5 2 Roi Roi with two spades on the flop and a spade turn... The Luxembourger raised from 15 to 85,000 chips, while Heni, who was in MP, preferred to hold on to his 120,000 chips.

For his part, Romain le Dantec took on Etienne Silva de Oliveira. The Twitcher opened under the gun and bet 3,000 chips on a 2 9 9 flop with two spades. In the small blind the WSOP champion check-raises to 11,500 chips and the duo find themselves on a King turn. No action and on the Valet river Romain le Dantec sends up 20,500 chips with 15,000 counters behind. Big tank from Etienne, who thinks for 210 seconds before throwing in a chip.

Snap-muck from the CPS winner who questions his buddy at the other end of the table fifteen seconds later with a "Hauteur As?". "Well played", adds the Frenchman after Etienne's nod...

Red zone for Romain Le Dantec with 15,000 chips, while Etienne is comfortably over 200,000.

23:03

3-way plan

There's 4 minutes left to play on level 10, then the blinds go up to 1,000 - 2,500 (2,500)... and there are only 26 players left, averaging 128,000 chips after a preflop all-in confrontation between three players.

Open by Mathieu Collin, 3-bet by Thomas de Kerchove to 11,000 chips, call by Eric Lescot and Mathieu goes all-in behind without scaring anyone. Ace-King for Collin, tens for de Kerchove and 7s for Eric Lescot.

The dealer unloads a competitive Ace-King-7 flop followed by a brick and a huge Ten river. Pan 175,000 for de Kerchove, Lescot stops dancing and jumps on the rail while Mathieu drops to 15,000 chips. One chip one chair ?

23:49

Three Tables

There were still 21 competitors in the running on Day 1B after Heni Mokni's exit, finished off by Hervé Decker (below), who took advantage of the opportunity to climb to 220,000 chips from an average of 160,000.

There are 5 minutes left to play on this level 11 and then the blinds will rise to 1500 - 3000 (3000) for the penultimate level of play. After a short break and a 13th level, it's time to pack up the chips for the overnights, at around 2 a.m., and join the 31 qualifiers for Day 1A.

With 400,000 chips in front of him , Harrie Snijders is ahead of Yann Nasser (370,000), while Marcus Keimer (260,000) has slipped back into second place after running into opponents who were still three of a kind at his previous table. Etienne Silva de Oliveira is up to 255,000 after betting 40,000 in 58,000 chips in a duel on Roi 6 9 4... His opponent folded after a short hesitation.

Louis Gabriel (150,000) just took a nice pot with Queen 9 of spades over Queen Jack 7 Ten Ten with two spades on the flop...

00:18

Top 20

Another 25 minutes of play in blinds 1,500 - 3,000 (3,000) and only 20 players remain in the running for the second of eight starting days at the DSO Namur 2025. There are three tables and Etienne Silva de Oliveira, who has settled in to the left of Yann Nasser (375,000), is setting the tempo at his table. The PMU twitcher has eliminated Alirez Kal (21st) to move up to around 350,000 chips and is very active...

Harrie Snijders (415,000) is still leading the way, whileAurélie Sampaio has just doubled up. The Frenchwoman held out with 8s against Ace-Kings at Simon Gyoergy to get back to 80,000 chips. The Hungarian Youtuber fell back to 200,000 chips... At this tble, Louis Gabriel also passed the second to climb to 180,000 chips, just above the average of 167,000...

There's a break at the end of this level, during which we find ourselves with a full chipcount...

00:57

Last break

Back to blinds 2000 - 4000 (4000) in a few seconds with 17 players averaging 197,000 chips and Etienne Silva de Oliveira chipleader.

Robert Seelen jumped in before the break in a three-way that also involved Sam Hilger... Only two tables remained on Day 1B of the DSO Namur, which brought together 67 competitors.

This is the last level, 50 minutes of poker to join the 31 qualifiers from the first session. Aurélie Sampaio is aiming to be one of them after doubling up with King Queen against King Jack on a King-high flop...

Deck playback

Only 16 players remain with half an hour to go before bagging on Day 1B of the DSO Namur 2025. Jeff Kirsch surrendered... in shorts he sent his stack from the button for 6 blinds after a once-paid limp. Hervé Decker (photo) isolated blinds with Ace-Queen and uncovered a pair of 6s in the showdown.

A Ten Jack Jack 2 King board gave him the straight and 290,000 chips before heading down the home straight. A fine stack when the average is now 209,000 chips.

01:35

Sprint

Still 16 players as the clock ticks down to 15 minutes to play on the 13th and final level of the second of eight starting days of the €550-entry DSO Namur.

The average is still 52 blinds, but Hervé Decker seems to have taken a big hit from Yann Nasser. The Luxembourger (below at chiplead time) is down to 90,000 chips, while the Frenchman is now at the head of a 470,000-chip bankroll, right on the heels of chipleader Etienne Silva de Oliveira.

Who will join the 31 qualifiers on Sunday's Day 1A?

02:06

15 qualifiers on Day 1B, dominated by Hervé Decker

Hervé Decker tripled his stack in the final hour to wrap up the chiplead on Day 1B of the DSO Namur 2025, a day that spanned 9 hours 50 minutes of effective poker action. The second of eight starting days for this €550, €400,000 prizepool event will be the least crowded of the opening flights, and has seen provisional attendance reach 200.

With the 31 qualifiers from the first session, 46 players have qualified for Saturday's Day 2. In the lead with two hours to go, Yann Nasser had to try his luck again, the Luxembourger first bluffing a straight on a flush board. Hervé Decker didn't give up with his straight and launched his Day 1B conquest!

Etienne Silva de Oliveira also played a very linear game. The PMU Poker twitcher finished on the heels of the boss after a square, well-controlled day.

Join us on Tuesday from 2 p.m. for Day 1C, featuring 6 levels of 40 minutes each and 7 levels of 50 minutes each...
