The approaching bubble
Despite the Final Day being played out over 40-minute levels, 16 players skipped in the first 90 minutes of play. This reduced the field to 93 players at the last three tables.
With the game now being played on 2500 - 5000 (5000), the field has just fallen to 16 players... reunification on the last two tables is underway. With 13 places paid, the €560 min-cash is just around the corner.
A chance to fill in the graveyard of illusions... here are the players who slipped into the 36 Day 2 survivors but left empty-handed.
Mickael Decker (17th) and Gabriel-Mihai Radu (18th) lasted a little longer than Giovanni Camardella, Payam Taheri, Joachim Vermeersch, Nicolas Doutsis, Dalil Masaud and Raynald Coppin... all of whom reached the final three tables of the tournament.
Well placed at the start, Raphael Muller (28th) stopped too early for his liking, as did Domenico Romano (27th), who had slipped into the Big Tuesday Special CPS deal on Tuesday...
No joy for Benjapol Suntornvibul (30th), Rachid Oufaska (31st), Damien Lecomte (35th) or Iryna Tsikhanskaya, who was eliminated after the restart...
Among those still eyeing the ITM and the €6,600 first prize are reigning champion Lucky Luciano, his 2023 runner-up Philippe Riminucci, BPC 2024 champion Rayane Moktavarium and leader Stéphane Meo... a fine line-up for a tournament contested without a net!

17:30
Riminucci bubble-boy
After half an hour of hand-for-hand action on the final two tables of Event #4 Freezout CPS 2024, it was finally the runner-up from the 2023 edition who bowed out in the worst place.
After talks to pay off the bubble failed, the hands went back and forth, and it was Jean Yip who came out on top again.
Yip doubled all-in twice during this critical period, and also went all-in with a straight flush on the turn after letting his opponent bet twice... Caught bluffing, villain didn't complete!
Behind, Rayane Moktavarium opened under the gun. The BPC 2024 winner then saw Philippe Riminucci defend his big blind before checking Queen 8 7 with two spades.
Rayane check-back to discover a 5 of spades on the turn. There, Philippe check-called 16,000 chips with another 65,000 behind him. On the 3 of hearts river, Philippe checked a third time before entering the tank.
Rayane advanced a stack of 100,000, forcing him to pay for his tournament. After a good minute, Philippe called to jump with a pair of 6's. Rayane revealed Dame 9 of clubs for the top pair which guaranteed €560 to everyone.
The game resumed with ten minutes to play on blinds 3000 - 6000 (6000) and an average of 214,000 chips. There's €6,600 at the top with one defending champion still in contention for the back-to-back.
Sandro Gangi has 50 blinds, but he'll have to contend with Stéphane Meo, Johann Mertens, Ken Claessens, Fecele Ricotta and Nikolas Wicquart...

Last Reunification
The Freezout CPS title is vacant as the defending champion bowed out on the bubble at the final table. After runner-up 2023's exit at the bubble, Lucky Luciano held out for a few more long minutes...
It all came down to a 3-way on a 4 Dix 4 3 5 board with two spades on the flop... Rachid Boussakrou opened under the gun and Stephane Meo paid on the button, while Lucky Luciano defended his blind...
This trio found themselves rivered and Rachid bet 75,000 chips after the big blind check. Stéphane hesitated for a moment before moving all-in for 113,000 chips. With 123,000 pawns in front of him, Lucky Luciano hesitated for a long time before calling with Ace Two of Spades for a missed flush draw turned straight!
Boussakrou folded and Stéphane Meo showed a pair of 4s to square up and reach the final! The game resumed on 5000 - 10 000 (10 000) with 11 minutes to play in this level 17 and an average of 31 blinds...
Nikolas Wicquart, Richard Beauchet, Fedele Ricotta, Jonathan Dartevelle, Ken Claessens and Salvatore Allatta complete the line-up for this final of Event #4.
A 70-minute dinner break will take place from 8pm...

Stephane Meo King of Freezout
Chipleader with 4 players left, Stephane Meo accepted the ICM deal to walk away with the CPS trophy, finally edging out his compatriot, Belgian Ken Claessens. Two Frenchmen complete the line-up for this two-day netless tournament.
A total of 36 players returned for this Final Day, contested over 40-minute levels, and in the end it was 2023 runner-up Philippe Riminucci who made the bubble. Titleholder Lucky Luciano bubbled the final table...
