Gianni Lodi at Le Bout de la Nuit (2.030€)
Big Tusday Event #6 at the Circus Namur French Open was marked by a very long pre-bubble. With 11 players in the field for 9 paid places, the splits and double-ups just kept on coming.
Once, twice, three times, ten times! In the end, it was Franca Lavenir who gave up the fight, missing out on a second consecutive paid finish after her final on PLO5 the previous night.
As soon as the penultimate woman was eliminated, the 10 players present agreed to award €200 to whoever finished in 10th place. With an average of 7 blinds, the deal was a logical one.
The carpets kept flying and Pierre Neuville saw his run end in 7th place. Another paid seat for the Belgian legend. Warm-Up winner, Sandro Gangi then joined the rail (6th).
Roger Sacre followed him to the cash desk, and it was Antonino Mangano who finally lost out at the foot of the podium to Caroline van Gorp. Then it was time to get along, with the casino closing in a few minutes.
The three survivors had the same stack to within one blind, so it was Gianni Lodi who took the trophy and a few extra euros... Philippe Riminucci signing a new deep-run at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.
