Already €127,168 in the prizepool, 107 qualifiers for Day 2

107 of the 258 entrants to Day 1 of the Carnival Festival €600 High Roller made it through the 11 half-hour levels on the schedule.

Play ended on 1000 - 2000 (2000) with an average of 60 blinds, and this level will be doubled at the start at 2 p.m. on Sunday March 3. Registration will be closed at the end of the first Final Day level on Sunday

Frenchman Steve Eschemann took a slight lead by multiplying the starting stack by 8 to bag 397,000 chips. He overtook Belgium's Patrick Prijot and Ken Beckers, who will return with over 100 blinds as the top 16 players.

Among those players with depth on the restart were Dario Sorrenti, who had just jumped out of the Main Event, and Daniel Pirlot. Just behind with just under 100 blinds, but enough to keep the tournament alive, are Edouard Mignot, Raphael Muller and Fred Blehaut.

Christophe Colantoni, Loic de Doncker, Olivier Carosella or Lukas Trzcinski and François Dutry also built up a nice stack...

Semi-Finals approaching

The exit of Gary Hasson (19th) gives hope to the rest of the field, all eyes on the €28,136 first prize.

Loic de Doncker (55th), Day 1 chipleader Steve Eschemann (50th), Fabrice Somers (46th) and Edouard Mignot (44th) were not far from the money, and it took half an hour after the exit of François Dutry (42nd) for Cyril Mazet (41st) and then Ivan Sousa (40th) to exit within minutes.

Deal to 4, the trophy for Fred Blehaut

The semi-finals dragged on in the €600 High-Roller, so much so that there were discussions about dealing to 12! Some of the players refused, and play continued despite the increasingly low average.

So the final was super-fast, with a quick exit for Anne Trebitsch and or Lukas Trzcinski... and it was only after the release of Raphael Muller and Jean-Luc Labryga that the last survivors of a 295-entry field have come to an agreement.

The final quartet therefore took better than third place, Fred Blehaut and Ludovic Ruperto taking more than second place and almost €20,000 each.
