The third of four starting days for the €330 BPC Cup kicks off at 2pm... 14 half-hour levels are on the program, and attendance is expected to be close to the 843 entries of the previous edition. Who will succeed Sébastien Matrige on Sunday, live on streaming cards revealed?

In any case, the 109 qualifiers from the first 2 sessions already have their tickets for Saturday 1 p.m. and a repeat on 2000 - 4000 (4000) with 40-minute levels...

Registration closes on this Flight at around 9 p.m... for latecomers and the unlucky, you'll have to join Day 1D Turbo, which starts at 8 p.m. and will feature 14 20-minute levels. 

Good Start

The first level of the 3rd of 4 opening days of the €330 BPC Cup saw more than 100 players start to battle it out. There were 119 players in the shuffle up & deal...

Angelo Aliberto, Eric Denizart, Robin Fournez, Ali Bilgin, Jorge Brito, Rens Buijs, Andrea Caizzi, Ingo Croes, Pascal Groshens and Pierre Neuville were there from the start. The WSOP Main Event finalist already got into the action on a single-high flop with a big overbet that sent one of his opponents fleeing, allowing him to climb over the starting stack of 30,000... 

Warranty expired

With half an hour now played on Day 1C of the BPC Cup, the players who will share the prizepool are guaranteed a slice of a €150,000-plus cake. The prize pool now stands at €174,000 on the second level of the third opening day.

The third level of play on Day 1C began a short while ago, with 208 players in the running in blinds 200 - 400 (400) with an average of 31,500 chips, as the Circus Casino Resort in Namur has already collected 219 entries...

Lukas Trzcinski, Virginie Toury, Patrick Prijot, Roger Sacre, Xavier Salcede, Euan Ralston, Anne Milot, Jonas Viaene, Dario Sorrenti or Maxime Conte are in the field...

The fourth level of play on Day 1C is underway, with 223 players in the running for 264 entrants... Dominique Potenza has just confirmed his good form, having won Nikolas Wicquart on a 7 8 Dix 3 board with three spades... Niko returned the 9s against Dominique's jacks, who thought he'd lost for a moment when the 9 of spades came river! No one had spades and Dominique's straight kept him in front to climb to 100,000 chips.

Things were also going well for Angelo Aliberto, who passed ace-queen off against a pair of 7s to climb to 70,000 chips. Angelo flopped a one-card flush draw after having already found a belly on the flop...

With a quarter of an hour left to play in the 200 - 500 blinds (500), it's time for the first break of the third opening day of this €330 tournament, which will see the winners already share out over €211,000...

Yann Nasser is no longer in his seat, just like Lionel Hamelryck or Daid Janssen and Julien Lauer or Eric Denizart...

Reprise

Play resumed a few minutes ago on blinds 300 - 600 (600)... the break following the previous level has enabled the 800-player mark to be passed, as the table now shows 802 entrants on this (th) level of Day 1C. 

With 228 players in the running for 285 entrants on this penultimate day of play, the prize pool continues to climb as well, averaging 37,000 chips as we complete our first round of tables at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur. 

No player with a 6-figure stack yet, although Vitaly Kryza is up to 90,000 pawns after the break and Angelo Aliberto is just ahead... Good start from Martin Schneidars too...

The 2023 affluence is almost wiped out. The 2024 edition of the €330 BPC Cup provisionally totals 841 entrants with a quarter of an hour left to play in blinds 400 - 800 (800).

The leaderboard for Day 1C shows 230 players in the field for 323 on this penultimate starting day, with the prizepool now at €228,000!

Yann Nasser is down to 60,000 chips after re-entry... Patrice Libert, Patrick Prijot, Somsong Intharanop and Patrick Prijot, who fell victim to fate in the final minutes, will also have to pay up... 

Checkpoint

The game is being played on blinds 500 - 1000 (1000); it's level 8 of this Day 1C... which welcomes a new PokerStars player. Kenny Hallaert has just joined the PS stable! The Belgian will be able to show off his logo at the TV table, as a stream with the revealed acrtes will begin in a few minutes. Kenny will have to work hard with 11,000 counters in front of him!

A total of 206 players have returned from the break, for 340 entrants to this third and penultimate starting day of the €330 BPC Cup. The average is 49 blinds, with Xavier Dupuy enjoying the lead with 155,000 counters.

Streaming

Level 10 has begun, and players will soon go on a 70-minute lunch break... a period at the end of which registration will be closed. 

With the tournament's 900-entry mark just around the corner, and with the game running at 600 - 1200 (1200), there's now €243,000 in the prize pool for the winners to share! 

161 players remain in the running, with an average of 67,000, and Morgan Poisson (above), Noah Alem, Yves Sergeant, Kader Slila, Fred Blehaut and Roger Sacre will all be back in the pot...

Dinner break

Play is paused until 9pm, with 154 players in contention and registration still open until resumption. Latecomers can still come in with 30,000 on the 1000 - 1500 blinds (1500)... or get in on the last-chance Day 1D Turbo which has just started in the Ocean Room at the Circus Casino Resort in Namr... 

The table shows 361 entries on Day 1C and the provisional tournament attendance has jumped to 925 entries with the 47 players in contention on the last-chance Turbo to join the weekend of this BPC 2024 Cup which will end on Sunday with a live stream revealing the cards...

Dominique Potenza is currently in the lead with almost ten times the starting mat! Things are also going well for the man who opened his live record on a side at last week's Sharky Festival in Spa...

From the blinds, Rens Buijs bet an overbet of 20,000 chips on a flop 9 7 Jack Ace Ten with two diamonds on the flop and a diamond on the river... he was paid by Nikolas Wicquart who had opened at the beginning of the word and muckeled letting his opponent climb to 145,000 to go to dinner when he saw 8 and Ten of diamonds...

Play resumed on blinds 1000 - 1500 (1500) with 362 entrants on Day 1C. After just a few minutes, only 148 players remained in the running on the 11th of 14 levels on the third opening day of the BPC Cup...

The boss's tour

Regular from Namur, Reda Haidar (below) has just found a generous donor for up to 300,000 chips, following in the footsteps of Dominique Potenza who is up to 310,000 chips.

This leading duo have made the cut with just under two levels and an hour of play remaining on Day 1C of the €330 BPC Cup 2024. The blinds are 1000 - 2500 (2500) on this 13th level and only 118 of the 362 entries are left.

"I've got a drunk guy at my table who opened everything, and he 3-bet everything too", says Reda... "This time, he 3-bets 11,000 from the button and I decide to make it 26,000 in the small blind to isolate him with Queen Ten of Spades," continues the local player. "He pays and raises me to 50,000 after my 15,000 c-bet on Ten 3 3 with a flush draw... I pay and he bets 12,000 on turn 9, I check-call again," adds Haidar before checking the river 7 again.

"The flush didn't come in and he goes all-in on me, I've still got 55,000 in front of me, I look at him and then end up asking him if he's bluffing... he says 'yes' and I snape to discover an Ace high," Reda Haidar, now at the head of a mountain, regales.

Potenza dominates Day 1C

No one was able to catch Dominique Potenza, who was quite serious at the end of the day to bag up a big stack of 435,000 chips. The leader of the 2024 leaderboard at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur multiplied his stack by just over 14 to come back on Saturday at 1pm with a big stack of 2000 - 4000 (4000).

Dominique Potenza leads a group of 80 qualifiers on Day 1C, the third and final starting day of a BPC Cup that has passed the 1000-entry mark! With the 109 qualifiers from the first two sessions, there are now 189 players with their ticket for a weekend of 40-minute levels. 

Entries are still open for a few minutes on Day 1D Turbo, the figures are provisional but there is now €277,000 in prize money to be won... there should be around 150 paid places on Saturday!

Dominique will therefore be in a very good position for the ITM, as many of the regulars have also passed the Day 1C hurdle. Reda Haidar has gone up a ton, and will be joined by Rens Buijs, Isaac Borghouts and Rayane Mokhtar, as well as Lukas Trzcinski, Jonas Viaene, Xavier Dupuy, Nikolas Wicquart and PokerStars player Martin "Felix" Schneiders.
