A former Starcraft video game pro, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier discovered poker in 2005 and quickly began multi-tabling on PokerStars, to the extent that he was the first player to achieve Supernova status in 2006, and later Supernova Elite.

He was soon sponsored by PokerStars and began to perform well on the circuit. In January 2007, he finished 2nd in the EPT Copenhagen for $399,952, then won the PCA Main Event the following year, taking home |HtmlArea|[IsMandatory:true]}} million. The same year, he won the WPT Festa El Lago at the Bellagio for {{Content__Text|HtmlArea|[IsMandatory:true]}}.4 million, and a few years later became the 4th player to win the Triple Crown by winning a bracelet at the WSOP in 2011 in the $10,000 Stud Championship for $331,639.

After a few more complicated years in which he played less at poker, turning once again to video games such as Hearthstone and Starcraft 2, ElkY came back strong in 2017. He finished runner-up in the $111,111 High-Roller for One Drop behind Doug Polk for |HtmlArea|[IsMandatory:true]}},278,657, before coming close to victory in 2019 in the €50,000 Super High-Roller at EPT Prague behind Stephen Chidwick for €501,590, and then winning his second WSOP bracelet at the World Series of Poker - Europe in the €550 Colossus for €190,375.

To date, he is the Frenchman to have won the most money in live tournaments, with nearly $15 million in winnings on the circuit and 12 victories to his credit, all for amounts in excess of $200,000.
