Sandu Dumitru wins the Havana Mystery Bounty Main Event (€30,860)
Sandu Dumitru wins the €330 Havana Mystery Bounty Main Event, which attracted 1,532 entrants to the Circus Casino Resort in Namur. It was the Dutchman's first success on the poker circuit on a day marked by a power cut in the Resort area, which interrupted play for almost an hour.
Chipleader at the start of Day 3, which began with 38 survivors and was played over 50-minute levels, Dumitru dominated until the last two tables. He was overtaken by Simon Delhuille before managing to slip into a 3-way deal.
COVERAGE OF THE FINAL DAY HAVANA MYSTERY BOUNTY MAIN EVENT
Slightly in the lead at the time of the arrangement, Namur's serial perfumer Djamal Boutaleb lost out in heads-up play on an attempted bluff. These two players will meet again at the end of 2023 in Namur for the Circus Poker Series at the end of the year, as they pocketed a bonus ticket.
With its Mystery Bounty format, the last 223 players in the running shared a prize pool of almost €120,000 in random bonuses. Two players cashed in directly for €25,000!
We look forward to seeing you at the WaSOP at the end of July. Before that, be sure to check out the new tournament on the schedule, a €133 Circus Ante, on Thursday 29 June from 7pm...
