Phil Ivey

Pro player

At just 18, Phil Ivey used a false identity card to play in the casinos of Atlantic City, where he was nicknamed "No Home Jerome".

Known as "the Tiger Woods of Poker", he is often regarded by his peers as one of the world's finest players. He shines in both No Limit Hold'em and the various poker variants, and holds 10 WSOP bracelets, all won in variant tournaments. This makes him the record holder for the most bracelets, tied with Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson, before being overtaken by the ogre Phil Hellmuth.

He won his first bracelet in a |HtmlArea|[IsMandatory:true]}},500 Pot Limit Omaha tournament in 2000, when he was just 23, and went on to win 3 in the same year, 2002.

Also recognized as one of the world's best cash-game players, and voted "Player of the Year" by Bluff Magazine in 2006, he also has the distinction of excelling online, where he notably won a lot during his years as a sponsored player at Full Tilt Poker.

In recent years, he has been less visible on the live circuit, reserving his appearances for Super High-Rollers, where he still manages to compete with today's top players.
