Belgische speler

Michaël Gathy got off to a triumphant start to his career by winning the €1,700 Belgian Series Main Event in Namur for €175,000. A few months later, he won his first WSOP bracelet in a €1,000 tournament in Las Vegas for an astronomical payout of $440,829.

In particular, he won the HtmlArea|[IsMandatory:true],000 No Limit Short-Handed for €560,843, a tournament renowned as one of the toughest at the WSOP, beating Frenchman Adrien Allain in the final heads-up.

He is one of a group of very successful players, including Thomas Boivin, Johan Schumacher and Pierre Milan, who had the distinction of exchanging a magnificent green shirt when they reached a prestigious final table, before doing the same thing again with a particularly eye-catching multicolored shirt. Michaël Gathy and Thomas Boivin, for example, were seen sporting this magnificent shirt on several occasions at Sin City.
