Nothing but No. 10s in Namur
In the end, it was team number 10, made up ofAntoine de Jesus and Fred Davidts, who emerged victorious in Namur at the Tag Team Championship – a tournament with a €300 entry fee that attracted 61 teams. The winning duo were absolutely delighted; they held their own during the heads-up stage but really relished the bluffs and other tactical manoeuvres. The joy of beating “the pros” made our winners’ satisfaction tenfold...
After a duel that began on an almost even footing and dragged on for ages, the two remaining teams whittled down the prize pool, leaving €1,000 up for grabs, with a Belgian duo emerging victorious against a Frenchman and a Portuguese player from Brussels!
Of note was the presence in the final of the 2009 Belgian Champion, Antonio Guida, who fell just short of the podium alongside his team-mate Giuseppe Pollina. The duo from Liège may well return on Thursday to compete in the Main Event… enticed and excited by a Tag Team format that had everyone on the edge of their seats for two days at the Circus Casino Resort in Namur.
Now it’s time for the final two days of Main Event qualifiers, offering a guaranteed prize pool of €300,000, on Thursday at 2 pm and 8 pm...
